Bill Maher discusses the leftist whitewashers of the serious problems we have with radical fundamentalist Islam. Many moderate Muslims agree with him. Political correctness is simply denial and encourages people to only attack Western civilisation and ignore any critism of non Western world ideologies . Lets start talking about Christianophobes too, if the Leftists insist on using silly terminology like "Islamophobes".
It's my hope that Mideasterners Muslim, Christian, Yazidis, etc. will rise up and defeat ISIS without Western world intervention. The leftist babble that the Western world is the problem only spreads confusion, which enables ISIS to continue their terror. iamjumbo DAS (formerly BushAdmirer) @menantol Big Lin

As the Maher panel discussion video so aptly proves, when it comes to this issue, liberals tend to blinders firmly in place and heads buried deeply in the sand. They're aided and abetted by their coaches in the liberal media. They want everyone to just play nice and love one another. Not only are they in denial of the truth when it comes to current events, they also choose to distort history in support of their warped views. One of the best examples of this would be the crusades. They feel guilt over the crusades and want the west to apologize for invading and attacking Muslim lands. No mention of the fact that these were only Muslim lands since they were conquered from the Roman (Byzantine) Empire just a few centuries earlier by invading Jihadi armies. After watching Bill Warner's videos, I was motivated to read up on history in the Mediterranean region. I was also personally fascinated by all those medieval watch towers that I've seen dotting the Tyrrhenian coast of Italy, Sicily, France, and Spain. I learned a couple interesting facts. Muslim pirate have infested the area from the time of Mohammad until now (Somalia). However, their effectiveness peaked in the 15th, 16th, 17th and 18th centuries. This was when their capabilities increased through the acquisition of more modern western ship building technology. Though these pirates were happy to capture ships and the loot/cargos they were carrying, the real objective was to kidnap people who would then become slaves or be held for ransom. They did most of their damage by attacking coastal towns and villages where they would kill (behead) anyone who resisted and the old people. They would then take their prisoners back to Tripoli, Algiers, or one of the other North African ports where they'd be paraded in the public slave markets. There was an especially high demand for attractive young white women. Countries could make a deal with the Caliph by paying tribute to avoid attacks on their ships. The American colonies were paying the Barbary pirates 20% of their annual federal budget which is why they founded the US Marines and sent them to invade what today is Libya. While the frequently warring major European countries (France, Spain, England) didnt want to be attacked themselves, they were happy to have the pirates attack their enemies. Piracy wasn't really curtailed as a major problem until France invaded Algeria and colonized it in the 1800's. How big of a problem were these pirates? The best estimates are that from 1,000,000 to 1,200,000 healthy young Europeans were kidnapped and sold into slavery in North Africa by Muslim pirates. How bad were they treated? Think about life as a galley slave, being chained to an oar and at sea 120 days per year, and doing hard labor the rest of the time. Think about a young blond Christian girl age 12 to 16 watching her father being beheaded before being sold into an Istanbul harem.

Love those three Maher interviews. I did have to click the little YouTube icon at the bottom to get them to play. Maher has Islam in razor sharp focus and he doesn't let liberals steamroller him with their nonsense. I like that.

Our dialogs seem to have a difficult time finding common ground when addressing this subject of Islam. What some believe to be assertions of truth, others consider as insulting of Islam. It often seems as if we are talking from two different worlds. I suggest here that such a possibility is quite true.
That is, those of Islam expect all others, Muslim or not, to react to their words as if they were Muslim. On the other hand, those of Western culture expect all others to react to their words as if they accepted the ethical and moral concepts of Western Culture. This is a perfectly natural reaction by both as each believes in the philosophical concepts of their own culture, they believe so strongly that they know that all others will understand and accept the underlying principles of their culture. Of course that basic assumption isn’t true.
At times within a single culture it can be challenging for people to find common ground, but when it comes to people of different cultures that challenge increases. When two cultures as so different as to be nearly incompatible, finding common ground may be an impossibility. In my opinion, that is what we have between Western Culture and Islamic Culture, that is, two cultures that are so different as to have no chance of finding common ground and certainly no chance of compatibility.
The act of economic trade between the two is fraught with misunderstandings and lack of agreement, even when one has something to sell and the other is willing to pay for it. Even when a contract is written and signed, it is highly likely that one or the other will not adhere to the terms of the contract and believe (here is the significant part) that what they are doing is ethical.
To have any chance of developing understanding between these two cultures we must understand them (the other) from their perspective. Not necessarily agree with it, but understand the existence of their perspective. That is, we cannot apply our cultural perspective to their decision making and, in my opinion, that is what we are doing here in this forum and in so doing, we’ll never come to common understandings.

Certainly, there is little or no possibility of common ground between the devout. Whether it be devout Catholics, Shias, Scientologists, Jews, Buddhists, Sunnis, or Baptists, the inherent nature of the devout is that they've been totally indoctrinated and are not receptive to any ideas other than those of their own particular cult. That's why I consider religions, all of them, to be worse than worthless. They're a plague on society and we'd all be much better off if they could all be made illegal.

I understand your feelings BushAdmirer, particularly since I have been an Atheist since about the age of 18. More than an Atheist, I am an Existentialist Atheist along the lines of Jean-Paul Sarte. As with most Atheists I have found schools of philosophy both of value and enjoyable to read and that is inclusive of religious based philosophies such as those of the Existentialist Soren Kierkegaard. There are also the nonintrusive religions such as the Amish and Buddhists and Baha’I, even so, it is obvious those who accept a religion as their own belief system can be expected to only see the world through those beliefs. For such a person to not function specifically within that religion makes no sense. Separate is to focus on culture. Cultures such as Islam that views all within a culture to be defined and driven by the religion is one thing, to have a culture which has evolved and has been influenced in part by religion, is quite another. As products of our culture we (those in the West) are, for the most part, at ease with our culture. For example, our Western culture is focused on individual freedom, and in that context Christian religion has had some positive impact on Western Culture in that individual freewill is a necessity as opposed to other religions which require unbending obedience which is (in my opinion) detrimental to the best interests of human societal evolution. Personally I prefer that people could come to understandings based on facts from the natural world and not be influenced by mythical illusions, but, we understand that such will not occur and at best we can only stand against those philosophies (inclusive of religions) that exist on lack of realism.

It is so incredibly obvious that one has to wonder why more people don't figure it out.

The Ten Commandments of Political Correctness To be politically correct, you must embrace all of the following beliefs as true 1. Without any doubt, Bruce Jenner is a woman 2. Guns cause terrorism 3. Anyone who questions the scientific validity of global warming is an idiot 4. Because of rampant racial discrimmination, “persons of color” are unfairly targeted by police, discriminated against by judges and juries, and disproportionately incarcerated. 5. Islam is a religion of peace. Members of terrorist groups like ISIL and Al Queda are not true Muslims. 6. One of the main reasons people are poor is that they’ve been exploited by bankers, Wall Street, and the wealthiest one percent. 7. Government should guarantee everyone free medical care, employment, and a guarantee of a comfortable living wage. Raising taxes on the rich is the way to pay for it. Income and wearlth redistribution is an important function of government. 8. Capitalism, large corporations, and globalization are generally evil. 9. There is nothing wrong with women having abortions. It is just another method of birth control. 10. Multiculturalism is our future. We applaud interraccial dating and marriage, religious integration, a color blind and non discrimminating society. Let us all gather around and love one another. Doing or saying anything opposing political correctness is grounds for termination of employment or impeachment of a politician. Anyone who disagrees with any of items listed above is intolerant, bigoted, and more than likely a Republican. The most evil people in world history were Gengis Khan, Adolph Hitler, GW Bush, Dick Cheney, and Donald Rumsfeld. ♫anna♫, blc,@menantol, iamjumbo

The people who call themselves Muslims and truly wish to peacefully coexist with unbelievers are not practicing Islam as Muhammad taught it in the Koran and Hadiths. Hi Anna, So the law of the land means nothing to a Muslim, is that what you are saying? I'm just saying that Muhammad is discredited as a prophet and was simply a brutal conqueror who hijacked religious symbolism to justify his wars, his brutal mistreatment and enslavement of women, he owned slaves himself and constantly promoted violence claiming God/Allah approved. He was no better than Charles Manson and was likely much worse.
If a Mideasterner has been raised with a heavily censored version of Islam and never read the Koran or Quran in it's entirity he may believe in one God and be taught to call himself a Muslim remaining completely ignoranant of Muhammad's teachings with have no comparison with Christianity or Eckankar.
American, Western European + Australian law gives American citizens who call themselves Muslims equal rights under the law. This is not the case in Muslim countries where Christians, Eckists and other non Muslims face the death penalty if they convert a Muslim. Islamic law called Sharia is simply unfair to non Islamics.
We have to close the borders since a large portion of Muslim immigrants want Sharia law to become our law. Their religions allows "taquiya" ( deceiving infidels en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taqiya ) so than they can also pretend to not know about what Sharia does with unbelievers. Saudi Arabia and other Muslim countries finance and encourage immigration to Western Europe knowing that they will rule these countries by virtue of their high birth rates in a matter of decades. Immigration is a form of conquest as the Native Americans + Australian aborigines discovered.

Anna - Once you know what those lookout towers were for they'll catch your eye when you visit places like Positano, Italy. Those towers are everywhere along the coast. People were clearly afraid of being surprised and kidnapped by Muslim pirate slave traders. The figure that sticks in my mind is that over the years, they kidnapped 1 to 1.2 Million. When you consider that they only kidnapped young healthy people having value in the slave markets of North Africa, it means that they disrupted the lives of many more than that. Old people were often killed and so were any who fought and resisted their attacks. It is unclear what happened to small children and infants but nothing good, I'm sure of that. They made seaside living dangerous and the same for shipping. This was very problematic for commerce because overland shipping was so difficult. In those days, the roads were dirt and poorly maintained. There were no trucks or motorized vehicles, only ox carts. There were issues of roaming bandits too. Shipping was much easier but the pirates made that method equally difficult and risky. With trade so disrupted, economic recessions were common. I think Bill Warner was right when he said we've been at war with Islam for fourteen centuries. When we have major incidents like Nice and Orlando, why don't we call it war?? Why pretend?

My worry is that when our leadership finally awakens to the problem of Muslim immigration and birthrates, it may be too late. They should start to get it when European countries like Sweden begin converting to Sharia law once they have Muslim majority populations. Though not as big a problem as Muslim immigration, Mexican and Latino immigration is problematic for America. California is now majority Latino. Many Latinos have been in the USA for generations, are American citizens, and can vote. They'll almost always vote against Trump or anyone else who opposes open borders. That's because, even though they themselves are citizens, they have relatives still south of the border. They want to bring in grandma, uncles, aunts, nephews, etc.

All this is just hysterical propaganda.
Of course there are people calling themselves Muslims - on the whole, NOT actually Muslims since they consistently carry out deeds that are specifically FORBIDDEN by the Quran so they are hypocrites - who do bad things.
Just as there are people calling themselves Jews, Christians, Hindus, Buddhists, Marxists, atheists and so on who do bad things.
I've reached the conclusion that to those whose brains are warped by prejudice no amount of facts and reason will stop them believing their comforting propaganda no matter how false it is.
