You would get your point across better if you at least paraphrased. She is the Boss, if you want it done otherwise, you may want to create your own site?!

I understand it a lot more than you do. You are for the tyranny of a few states (California or New York) over the other states. The electoral college keeps the playing field level, for the most part. Large states like Wyoming only gets 3 Montana and North Dakota more large states that only get 3. It isn't outdated. Just because an amendment dates back to the 1700's doesn't make it outdated. The electoral college initially protected slaves states from being dictated to by the non slave slave states. At that time slaves didn't vote and so those states had smaller voting populations, not unlike the smaller populations of large states like Wyoming, Colorado, the Dakotas etc. The US is a republic, not a democracy. Remember the pledge of allegiance? And to the REPUBLIC, for which it stands... probably why the democrats have such angst for it. The popular vote and the EC is another type of checks and balances that the founders implemented. Its laid out in the Constitution and not likely to be changed anytime soon. You just demonstrated that you know nothing about. It was originally designed to give parity to slave states to prevent the South from succeeding. Now, it is irrelevant. California and New York, as well as several other cosmopolitan centers, have far larger population ratios and are thus, under-represented. You are being deliberately obtuse now, I mentioned the parity of slave states in my post. We are done. I'll leave you with this excellent video. Warning bad language alert, but she hits it out of the part!

You would get your point across better if you at least paraphrased. My time is incredibly limited; sometimes I just have to post links. Believe me, I'm sick and tired of extremists of every persuasion. It's depressing as hell. But if you only see the world in primary colours you miss the vital nuances of life. And I'm using the word 'you' in the general sense, not in a sense meaning you in particular, Ariel.

Why is it that so many of these whiners and malcontents always say they are moving to Canada and never say they are moving to Mexico? Maybe they prefer the cold weather!

When are they gonna call Michigan so I can get paid out? What is the hold up there? The way things are going there they will still be counting the votes when the next election starts!! Not hanging chads again I hope? I think that they called it for Trump. I know that they called New Hampshire for Hillary. Go scoop up your winnings, Kronks.

Yea they finally coughed up a few hours ago, about time too! There seemed to be an unusually long deal in Michigan I guess it was because it was expected Hillary would hold that one and the vote was very close. Even now I am not even sure if the vote is officially official, but the chance of it changing is so small they have paid out anyway it seems. www.freep.com/story/news/politics/2016/11/14/vote-total-michigan-may-change-but-outcome-expected-remain-same/93809670/

Ariel and anyone else - please PM members here if you want to talk about stuff on other forums.
I've mentioned before about keeping beefs about other boards on THOSE places and NOT on here.
Don't post them on the main forum.

as you know we don't have that system here, look at UKIP they got over 4 million votes but that under our system equated to only 1 MP in parliament, hardly representative. Hi Gibby, I personally believe that the greatest amount of votes for a certain Party should count for that Party winning the Election. That's nice but it's not the system in the USA. It is what it is

That's nice but it's not the system in the USA. It is what it is There is a proposed bill to change it. It has failed us twice in the past 16 years. It isn't going to be changed. The electoral college is what keeps the election fair and give all states a voice. Fortunately the founders were smart and didn't want a large state dictating over the others. There is no way on knowing how many fraudulent votes were cast because a lot of states don't have voter ID. If I recall its only the 5th time in the history of the USA that this has happened. That is pretty good odds. Had Clinton won the electoral and Trump the popular, you'd have been fine with it. Get over it. I just read an article where protestors beat up a 15 year old kid wearing a Trump hat and the pathetic protestors were carrying signs saying Love Trumps Hate. Hypocrites. Then there is the guy that protestors pulled from his car and beat up and then stole his car. Yeah, so much love......

And you don't know what is going to happen with the electoral college. But - if someone grabs you by the p*ssy, it just may be YOUR president.

Hi Gibby, I personally believe that the greatest amount of votes for a certain Party should count for that Party winning the Election. That's nice but it's not the system in the USA. It is what it is Hi Gibby, Each area of a city is divided up but the overall vote of that state is what counts in the long run. I really think when Labor is in power in this country they seem to hand out more than what comes in, so the country is always in debt and has to borrow from the banks, which is the worst thing that can happen to any country or state.

This was an abandoned house when I first came here. Hi Ariel, It puzzles me how you know all these things, but rules are rules no matter. I think out of courtesy we should pay heed to them. If you ever have a forum of your own you will know how difficult it is to run one and try to keep peace with everyone. Every mistake that I make I am aware that I make it more difficult for the person in charge, which is why I don't deliberately rock the boat. Think about it?
