My life is brilliant My love is pure I saw an angel Of that I'm sure She smiled at me on the subway She was with another man But I won't lose no sleep over it cause I've got a plan Don't know, Mindy. It is familiar, but I can't connect the lyrics with the song. "Your Beautiful" By James Blunt. Listen to it, it's a great song! Oh yes, there was a time when that was playing every time I got in the car and turned on the radio. Good one!

I saw you dancing out the ocean Running fast along the sand A spirit born of earth and water Fire flying from your hands
In the instant that you love someone In the second that the hammer hits Reality runs up your spine And the pieces finally fit

Another clue - released as a single in the early '90s. BTW, if I'm counting correctly (someone puhleeeze double check this), Riotgirl, Trubble and I are in a three-way tie with 3 each.

She looked me over And I guess she thought I was all right All right in a sort of a limited way For an off-night She said don't I know you From the cinematographer's party I said who am I To blow against the wind from one of my all time favorite albums and I still almost didn't figure it out. The second line is kind of hooky though and gave it away. Even then, I had to drag out the cd and find the title. Now if it had been Graceland or Diamonds on the soles of her shoes, I'd have known instantly. The imbedding does not want to work on this one, so I'll just add the link. I originally posted Diamonds but it was too easy so I was mean, I chose the hardest one, I think, although I thought cinematographer might be the giveaway, it's not a word you often find in lyrics. Graceland is one of my all time favourite albums too, Beth. It is surely in the 'world's best albums of all time' top ten and a contender for number one. Surely!

HA-ha.

I thought you would. What's better than Graceland, crazy lady? Doing the ironing is better than Graceland. Eating over-cooked meat is better than Graceland. Having a UDI inserted is better than Graceland. Having your purse stolen is better than Graceland.

And Rolling like Lovers Under the Covers? Better than Graceland?

And Rolling like Lovers Under the Covers? Better than Graceland? Well, I guess that's why they call it the blues Trubble. The best Elton John lyric is the one for 'Song For Guy'. Except for that 'life isn't everything' line. The song would be better without that.

I still don't see a correct song title and just tossing out the name of the artist isn't enough. I love "Graceland" - the album and the single. When it comes to EJ lyrics, I'm partial to Bernie Taupin's goofy "stream of consciousness-like words. Part of the time, they make very little sense - just paint a quick visual here and there, but then, as a whole, they are exactly right. We all have our musical guilty pleasures - I have several play lists full, in fact.

Unless there's something here my screen is not picking up, it looks like there's still a 3 way tie. The video for this one will not imbed and I'm kind of glad because it does better in the larger version on youtube. Do have a look - especially if you're not familiar with this vid. It will be too over-blown for some. I think it's lush and lovely. The One Elton John Lyrics Bernie Taupin I saw you dancing out the ocean Running fast along the sand A spirit born of earth and water Fire flying from your hands In the instant that you love someone In the second that the hammer hits Reality runs up your spine And the pieces finally fit And all I ever needed was the one Like freedom fields where wild horses run When stars collide like you and I No shadows block the sun You're all I've ever needed Baby you're the one There are caravans we follow Drunken nights in dark hotels When chances breathe between the silence Where sex and love no longer gel For each man in his time is Cain Until he walks along the beach And sees his future in the water A long lost heart within his reach And all I ever needed was the one Like freedom fields where wild horses run When stars collide like you and I No shadows block the sun You're all I've ever needed Baby you're the one

I'll do one more, then it's up to somebody else to be the presenter. It ain't no use to sit and wonder why, babe It don't matter, anyhow An' it ain't no use to sit and wonder why, babe If you don't know by now When your rooster crows at the break of dawn Look out your window and I'll be gone You're the reason I'm trav'lin' on

It's Bob Dylan, 'Don't Think Twice It's Alright.'
I remember my Dad playing loads of Dylan stuff when I was growing up. He really loved his music.
Here's an easy one:
'And I don't know if I'm being foolish And I don't know if I'm being wise'

Bravo, Lin and Riotgirl. Before the weekend is over, I'll go back to page one, take my time and add up the scores. Shall we have a monthly winner, or let it go into a neverending contest?

If this is the Feb. contest, we have a few more days to break the tie. Someone other than riotgirl, trubble or myself needs to post some lyrics. Thanks
