This is a fun thread where we post a couple of lines from a song and other members have to name the song and the artist.
I'll start us off with a nice easy one:
'Every day is like survival You're my lover, not my rival'

You just got me in the mood to go listen to it. Sweetest little stadium band, ever. Yesterday was Steve Perry's b-day. The official video won't embed, but it's my favorite version. Enjoy.

hmmm Yes you are. We need more lyric presenters. Here's another one. Broken windows and empty hallways, A pale dead moon in a sky streaked with grey.

How about this one...you'd have to had lived under a rock in the 1980s not to know these lyrics: In the day we sweat it out on the streets of a runaway American dream At night we ride through the mansions of glory in suicide machines

okay far across the deep blue water lived an old german's daughter by the banks of the old river rhine Jim, I don't know this one. just to guess, it sounds like Randy Newman or Townes Van Zandt, or, maybe, one of those yesteryear folk groups like the Chad Mitchell Trio. That's as close as I can come and it's pretty pathetic.

That's Springsteen - Born to Run Just to wrap it up and move on, my lyric was "I Think It's Going to Rain Today", by Randy Newman. This is my favorite version by Katie Melua.

I guess I could go up to google and cheat, but . . . better not. Maybe Riotgirl will come up with a title.
