I can see by your eyes you must be lying When you think I don't have a clue Baby you're crazy If you think that you can fool me And did we ever get this one? I keep getting side tracked and singing Paul Young.. (By the look in your eye, I can tell you're gonna cry, is it over me?...) So I can't get it, you see. ;D But I do have the ear worm now.

Was there a band called Styx? For some reason, re-reading the ungot lyric, that's what I thought of.

: ) and I almost didn't post that because I thought it too easy. clue: it's a Bernie Taupin lyric from a song that I don't think was ever released as a single, but that somehow managed to become a classic anyway. The nest line is the title.

OK lol There are 2 lyrics that have no guesses, one by trubble and one by me. If there are no guesses on mine by tomorrow evening, I'll retire it and submit another in its place. Oh! I think Lin has one with no guesses, as well. Back up to page 4 or so and see if you can give them a try. I'll bet RiotGirl knows at least 2 of them.

Retiring this one.

"I've Seen That Movie, Too" from Elton John's Yellow Brick Road album Sorry it was so hard. Here's another in its place.
Where is the moment we needed the most You kick up the leaves and the magic is lost They tell me your blue skies fade to grey They tell me your passion's gone away And I don't need no carryin' on

This song has been "done to death", world-wide, so I guess it's a cliche. The video is adorable but, as far as I can tell, no longer available on YT

The video is adorable but, as far as I can tell, no longer available on YT I don't know whether nobody knows this one or everyone's just developed a common case of ennui. Youtube no longer has this video, so I scouted around a bit and found it on spike.com. It's very cute, but another reason I like it is because a friend of my daughter looks like this girl - better hair, but, still, she looks similar enough that people notice. She said that after watching it, she's determined to find that terrific guy or one just like him. Says nobody she knows measures up. lol After a short commercial, it will load itself. www.spike.com/video/daniel-powter-bad/2670549 oh, yeah . . . it's Daniel Powter's "Bad Day"

I'm just not good enough, Beth. I don't know the answers. Even the Rocky Horror Show one, which was easy, stumped me.

I'm just not good enough, Beth. I don't know the answers. Even the Rocky Horror Show one, which was easy, stumped me. Well, for sure it's a lot harder than one would think. It may just be a matter of not paying that much attention to lyrics at the beginning of songs - or it may be that there are so many lodged in our memory banks it's hard to extract one at any given time. Maybe we can come up with a better way. It would be kind of neat if we could imbed midis and have real "name that tune", but I don't know how to do that. I'll go away and give it some thought. If any one else thinks of a few ground rules that would make this easier and more fun, jump right in.

It must have been cold there in my shaddow To never have sunlight on your face You were content to let me shine, that's your way You always walk a step behind. So I was the one with all the glory While you were the one with all the strain Beautiful face without a name, for so long Beautiful smile to hide the pain

She looked me over And I guess she thought I was all right All right in a sort of a limited way For an off-night She said don't I know you From the cinematographer's party I said who am I To blow against the wind

I'm gonna try another one. This is a modern song and has been played alot over the last 2 years. My life is brilliant My love is pure I saw an angel Of that I'm sure She smiled at me on the subway She was with another man But I won't lose no sleep over it cause I've got a plan

The second line is kind of hooky though and gave it away. Even then, I had to drag out the cd and find the title. Now if it had been Graceland or Diamonds on the soles of her shoes, I'd have known instantly. The imbedding does not want to work on this one, so I'll just add the link.

Don't know, Mindy. It is familiar, but I can't connect the lyrics with the song.
