If they're immigrants rather than tourists or visitors, they're paying tax and national insurance like everyone else. i wouldnt bet on it...neither would the government immigrants are not individually cost effective

Immigrants are either scroungers, mooching off the state, or else they're taking white folks' jobs. They can't win.
Right. White visitors will mostly be from the US, Australia, NZ and Europe, IE, the EU. We have reciprocal health agreements with all those countries. So white people with weird accents are covered.
A lot of tinted people are covered by this as well.
You're worrying over nothing. Don't - it's not good for you.
(Some mistyping is very confusing. "Overseas Aid Patients" are something very different from "Overseas Aids Patients." Neither of them are anything to get worried over, though.)

and you base that bit of observation on what exactly.. just where do you think the ""buggers"" come from or live.... Here is a Tory with widespread support throughout the Party, who went on Fox news and gave the views that many Tories think about the NHS. Daniel Hannon is, like it or not, widely respected among your people. Tories hate the NHS and will never be happy until you have destroyed it. Thanks for putting this up here RV. I would have to say this is most likely your best post on this board. Hannon is a very bright guy and his arguments ring true.

There speaks a man who hasn't had to go bankrupt from paying medical bills.

Aubrey - In a semi-Socialist, semi-Democratic society, like most of Europe, there are some of the people riding in the wagon (receiving payments and/or benefits) and some of the people pulling the wagon (paying to cover their own costs and those of the riders).
The situation becomes a problem when the number of riders becomes greater than the number of pullers. The riders will then vote to keep riding and for the pullers to pull even harder.

That's arse.
People on your wagon have been pulling it and will be pulling it again. There are few who do nothing but pull and few who do nothing but sit. I worked for 20 odd years before getting ill.
People do not go bankrupt in the UK from having to pay medical bills, but medical bills are the biggest cause of bankruptcies in the US.
But it hasn't happened to you so it's not a problem.

Aubrey - Anyone can be on an airplane that crashes; be diagnosed with a fatal form of cancer, or be infected with a dread disease like Aids with no cure.
Such an undesirable happening would be a downer for the person getting the diagnosis no doubt.
But how does that make it the other guys responsibility to pay the costs? I don't get that.

Because we are living in a society. Everybody contributes, so that individuals don't have to pay crippling amounts. (Health costs are far beytond the reach of most people.)
I helped pay for the education of children I didn't know (I have none of my own) because education is important for society. Same as the police, roads, etc: everything that makes a society worth living in. Health is one of these things.
And, do you really like being at tne mercy of an insurance company who will do their damndest to get out of paying for treatment?

Well then why not move to Cuba where that line of thinking is front and center Aubrey?
I want my government building roads, providiing military defense, and fighting terrorism in Afghanistan, Iraq, and elsewhere. I don't want my government to be in the social welfare business of housing, feeding, medicating, etc.

i think our system is quite a good one bushy...the point where i would draw the line the abuse by those who have not paid in to our system...be they european or what ever most tourists have travel health insurance but we have vast numbers who come into our country who havent paid in....acording to the last government[and its been discussed on various sites] we are sending 1 million plus every week to poland alone in child allowence..to children who have never set foot in this country..that is just one abuse of our monies....not government monies but the tax payers monies...

Do you take your E111 with you when you go abroad, mouse? That works for all EU citizens because we have reciprocal arrangements with each other's health services.

Hannon is a very bright guy and his arguments ring true. Well you also think Reagan and GWB are very bright guys so, it is no suprise that someone like Hannan is considered 'bright' by people from backward cultures. The fact that you think his 'arguments' ring true is more to do with the fact that the man is a liar and a scumbag as well. No-one will be suprised that you are so easily fooled. This man preaches to the most idiotic people in Europe, therefore duping a backward American would pose little problem for him.

Care to explain why Europe kicks your backward culture's butt by any reasonable measure? Care to explain why during the Bush years, you poverty levels rose to almost epidemic levels?

But one could argue that your culture is backward, backward and discriminatory in its approach to its own indigenous people.
