I wish to put it on record that I voted the wrong way because the thread title/poll were so badly phrased.
Why can'tI have the change vote option?
Otherwise you might as well disregard the whole thing.

Only admins can modify polls!

And if someone doesn't want to be heterosexual? A pill for that too? How about if someone doesn't want to fancy blond people? Or what if someone would like a pill to make them stop being attracted to tall people? Bit barmy, right? Hi Trubble! Some women are in abusive heterosexual relationships and turning gay is preferable to getting beaten to death!
The more options we have in life the more freedom we have! I support having more freedom!

It cannot be easy being homo ! No, it actually can. And it more and moreso is. [/quote] About 30 years years ago a gay friend told me how tough it is to be gay. You have a very limited pool of people from which to choose as a partner; you would be lucky indeed to meet your soulmate through work or outside interests where you are likely to be surrounded by heterosexuals. Hetero colleagues don't tend to invite two gay friends to dinner parties and introduce them to each other as "someone they might like to meet" (I would find that really crass!) Sure, there were gay clubs and social networks even then, but most people regard answering adverts or chatting people up in a bar as a bit hit-and-miss. He said that's why so few gay men had steady partners. But the more open society becomes, the easier it will be, no question. I hope things are a bit easier now. Of course a gay couple will never get a child sharing the genes of both of them but I'm not sure how important that is to most of us.

Hunny posted.:-That is an incorrect assumption. Just the opposite is true. It is the things which don't get talked about which are kept in the dark.
Toby comments.:- Obviously if they do not get talked about they are kept in the dark.
Hunnys comment again it's your attitude which society has deemed bad enough to be illegal.
Toby comments.:- But it is NOT Society deeming that Laws need to be passed is it ? It is a munute but powerful coterie of left wingers most of whom are deviants and they connived to pass laws favouring themselves and their deviant practises.
Society (as you call it), never got asked what THEY wanted, did they ?

Toby comments.:- But again you make an incorrect statement, homosexuality is not a naturally occurring phenomenon, a brain defect causes folk to be homosexual to a greater or lesser degree. The same area of the brain when defective can cause people to become fanatically religious. The good news is that one day there will be a cure. for this cranial aberration !

homosexuality is not a naturally occurring phenomenon, Quote the research that supports this statement. The interesting thing about anomalies is that they are not automatically defects or anything that needs to be corrected. In fact, anomalies can be our greatest trait. Think of the small percentage of people who have IQs much higher than that of the general population. Defective or just different? Either way, thankfully so.

Couple of facts.. Those who speak strongly against homosexuality often turn out to really want to do it themselves; they're just externalizing an inner conflict. More people have had a bisexual thought than haven't. It's all just part of how human sexuality goes. Toby, it makes me a bit sad to see you suggest a gay would have no maternal instinct; you make me feel it's not a fair fight here (don't take "fight" literally, it's just an expression), meaning the mother in me feels a bit sorry for you that you seem to be so in the dark. Anna's suggestion that "Some women are in abusive heterosexual relationships and turning gay is preferable to getting beaten to death!" actually is true. But they aren't really choosing to TURN gay, they're just -in their understandable defensiveness against men- rejecting them, deciding to turn to their innate % of bisexuality for human companionship with someone they feel would understand and be less likely to suffer from the aggressive effects of testosterone. I know this from being at women's forums, especially one where they discussed womens studies and every conceivable position on feminism.

Toby comments.;- Because they enter into relationships that are doomed if they wish for conception to take place therefore you cannot expect the blossoming of a nurturing instinct, it's doomed from the word go.

Trubble posted.:-Quote the research that supports this statement.
Toby comments.:- The research was widely quoted and also discussed on some of the boards I frequent. A Homo lobby group took out an injunction against the Researchers who found out that a brain anomoly causes queerness, this was in the west coast USA, it was around a decade ago (to the best of my recollection.)
The Homo's did not like it said that they had something wrong in their brains, therefore the injunction.

Toby comments.:- Well Hun, the Father in me abhors the possibility that any of mine would turn out to be defective in any way, this is quite natural. Happily they all turned out very well and are hetro. I do really, honestly, truly, feel sorry for those who cannot engage in a hetero relationship because a homo relationship can never be as productive and satisfying.
