Anna its well recorded you hate homosexuality, hence all the threads you start denegrating them. Your attitude has already cost some good members who found your posts beyond all good sense and reason. This last post is utterly vile. Ok, you have a problem, but you aren't saying anything new or offering a persuasive argument so, what are you doing? What's the purpose of these posts? What's so vile about being supportive of people, who wish to be cured of homosexuality?

OBJECTIONABLE CONTENT You represent and warrant that you shall not use the Website or Services to upload, post, transmit, display, perform or distribute any content, information or materials that: (a) are libelous, defamatory, abusive, or threatening, excessively violent, harassing, obscene, lewd, lascivious, filthy, or pornographic; (b) constitute child pornography; (c) solicit personal information from or exploit in a sexual or violent manner anyone under the age of 18; (d) incite, encourage or threaten physical harm against another; (e) promote or glorify racial intolerance, use hate and/or racist terms, [glow=red,2,300]or signify hate towards any person or group of people;[/glow] (f) glamorize the use of hard core illegal substances and drugs; (g) advertise or otherwise solicit funds or constitute a solicitation for goods or services; (h) violate any provision of this Agreement or any other ProBoards agreement or policy, including without limitation ProBoards' Community Guidelines; or (i) is generally offensive or in bad taste, as determined by ProBoards (collectively, "Objectionable Content"). Just to remind us all of the TOS I have never advocated, approved of or promoted hatred towards homosexuals. Some homosexuals are my friends. I'm just critical of the life style. I concede too that some homosexuals deal with this life style much better than others!

My favorite nephew is gay. He lives in California where gay marriage is legal. He and his spouse are very happy. I'm happy that they're happy.
I don't disapprove of the gay lifestyle but I do consider homosexuality to be an unavoidable birth defect.
You can purchase a copy of Grey's Anatomy and study the compatibility of the penis and the vagina. They were designed to work together. They create life. They're amazing.
Two penises or two vaginas are not similarly compatible. There is something wrong in the brain when homosexuality happens. I doubt that it is correctable. Gays don't cause problems for society. So it's OK with me.
I'm similarly OK with other birth defects.
It's admirable when someone who has an issue like that can live a normal life and contribute to our society.

Either we have free speech or we don't have free speech! Getting back to the young man who was disciplined for stating his belief that homosexuality is wrong it seems like a lawsuit will develope.
Here I'm going to give my personal opinion as a flawed Christian, which doesn't apply to everyone! I personally think cigarette smoking would be for me a greater sin than lapsing into a homosexual relationship. I was a smoker once, but this sin is no longer written in my heart! All of us have certain sins written in our hearts and yes all true Christians agree that we are all sinners. By trying to be too good we risk the danger of succumbing to the sin of pride or we may blind ourselves with the sin of hypocrisy. Nevertheless I won't stop being supportive of those who wish to find a cure for homosexuality!

I just resent the bashing that people, who wish to break away from homosexuality and those who support them are subjected too.
Are they? All I did was query why someone would wish to change their sexuality, and suggest that if they were treated differently they might be happhy with what they are. Tell me Anna, if a bisexual came to you and said s/he wished to be rid of all heterosexual feelings and become completely homosexual, would you support them?

You never did comment about the YouTube video where the young woman wishes to find a cure for homosexuality. Some homosexuals have told me that if it can be avoided it's better not to be homosexual. People do pretty much what they do regardless of social attitudes. I think the negative attitudes that some homosexuals have about homosexuality are based mainly on their intrinsic feelings and experiences and not society's position which is currently more supportive than critical.
True bisexuality, like true ambidexterity is rare.
I suspect sexual abuse, abusive relationships with members of the opposite sex, etc. could cause this wish you mention.

None of us can make choices for other people. If they are your friends or family.....you can give advice (hopefully, when asked for)......if they aren't.....well what business is it of yours?
If someone puts their life out into the public.....via youtube or other formats.....well....then they are putting themselves out there for either support or abuse also.

Toby comments.:- If Scientists say they found why some folk are Homosexual and they may be working on a cure, then surely that's good news ??

OK, I don't want to intervene in this thread but I might have no alternative.
Unlike too many board owners I know, I always welcome diversity and differences of opinion.
I don't look on passion and strong views as something to be suppressed nor do I want everyone to be saying the same thing as some other board owners seem to want. (I can think of at least six I belong to where that's the case and I totally disagree with that approach).
Now, everyone, let's disagree but NOT start turning it into some kind of personal attack.
Remember, please, we attack the post and NOT the poster.
A few other boards would benefit from learning that lesson.
If we can't keep our differences of opinion civil I'll have to move this thread to Vendetta.
My own attitude is pretty simple.
If it's between consenting adults I don't care what people do in their sex lives.
Now please, let's NOT get into feuds.
Let's just disagree but without slagging each other off or I'll to play the heavy (which I don't want to do) and move this thread to Vendetta.
Thanks for your co-operation.

What's so vile about being supportive of people, who wish to be cured of homosexuality? I think that it is the idea that homosexuality is some sort of 'defect' as implied by the use of the term 'cure', that may be offensive to many. If a person wishes to change their sexuality and it is somehow possible to 'change' (I won't use the term cure) it then why not allow this? It could be useful in some circumstances where the person is sexually attracted to children or animals or the dead or raping. Obviously homosexuals would be different in that they would not need to be 'changed' in order to stop harming people, but nevertheless if a person want this why deny them, if it is possible.

@ Synonym - I personally think sex change is grotesque when surgery is involved. Take a look at someone like the singer Cher's daughter who converted from woman to man. The word 'freak' comes to mind. I feel only pity for someone like that.
You said, "if a person want this why deny them, if it is possible?" I would have denied someone like Cher's daughter because she/he/it is going to be viewed as a freak for the remainder of her/his/it's life. That's so sad.

I'm a woman who's happily married to a man.
When I was a teenager i had some lesbian relationships (one of them VERY intense) as well as heterosexual ones.
If consenting adults want to have same-sex relationships that's fine with me.
Transgender is a separate issue.
I feel sorry for those people to be honest.
It must be awful to feel you're the wrong sex and sort of trapped in a body that feels alien.

@ Big Lin - One of your most admirable traits is your self confidence and openness. I think most heterosexual women would hide that adolescent lesbian relationship. You're more of an open book and that's admirable.

No one is talking about sex change surgery. The fruit flies that were changed from heterosexual to homosexual and back to heterosexual ( www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,316316,00.html ) as the video i posted here showed were not subjected to any sex change surgery. That's a totally different topic.

Anna, I sometimes have problems looking at videos but have just watched the video link you posted on page 3.
The girl talks about treatment being needed for those who can't handle a "homosexual lifestyle" whatever that may be. Lesbians I know live the same way as everyone else so far as I can tell so I wonder what she means.
Yes, as you pointed out in a later post, some can be abusive, and any woman who turns to other women as a kind of safeguard against abuse is deluding herself. But the speaker makes it clear that one's sexuality is not a choice; that's why she is seeking some kind of treatment - which oesn't of course exist so far as I know.

I've never described homosexuality as "morally wrong", but I do defend the free speech of those who do believe it's a "morally wrong choice". True as a struggling Christian I've read the writings of Paul, which are clearly anti-homosexual, but Christ was silent on this topic as far as I can tell.
We have all kinds of sexual birth defects e.g. intersexuality, hermaphroditism, etc. and the parents often decide on surgery for such children and take the liberty of choosing their gender role, which is sometimes the wrong choice. Homosexuality is less physically conspicious of course, but I agree with BA that there is some kind of wiring there. Of course homosexuals, who feel fine with this "orientation" should never be forced to take a cure should one be discovered.

Well....people have gotten to lighten up........nobody is going to agree with everything.....but this PC world we are living in has gotten to be a pain in the arse.......If there was harassment or something like that involved.......I could see it.....but to state your opinion and be punished.....is too much. Of course no one is going to agree with everything, and everyone has the right to their own opinions, however, there are situations when it is appropriate to express ones opinion and when it is not. A public school has a diverse group of people, including homosexuals. I don't know if it is true in America, as it is in Canadian highschools, but there is zero tolerance for hate. That includes racism and issues regarding religion and sexuality. What if, hypothetically, Dakota said he believed being a race other then his own race was wrong? Or different religions to the one he believes is wrong? The teacher would have not let those claims pass, in fact, not only would the kid be looked at, but his parents would be too for teaching the kid hate. So what is the difference between race and religion and homosexuality?
