When he finally completed his transformation of America into a Socialist State, people finally woke up........ but it was too late.
Any one of these things, in and of themselves does not really matter. But.... when you add them up one by one you get a phenomenal score that points to the fact that our Obama is determined to make America over into a Marxist/Socialist society. All of the items in the preceding paragraphs have been put into place. All can be documented very easily. Before you disavow this, do an internet search. The last paragraph alone is not yet cast in stone. You and I will write that paragraph. Will it read as above or will it be a more happy ending for most of America ? Personally, I like happy endings.
If you are an Obama Supporter, please do not be angry with me because I think your president is a socialist, but there are too many facts supporting this. If you seek the truth you will be richer for it. Don't just belittle the opposition. Search for the truth. I did. Democrats, Republicans, Independents, Constitutionalist, Libertarians and what have you, we all need to pull together. We all must pull together or watch the demise of a society that we all love and cherish. If you are a religious person, pray for our nation.
Never before in the history of America have we been confronted with problems so huge that the very existence of our country is in jeopardy. Don't rely on most television news and what you read in the newspapers for the truth. Search the internet. Yes, there is a lot of bad information, lies and distortions there too but you are smart enough to spot the fallacies. Newspapers are a dying breed. They are currently seeking a bailout from the government. Do you really think they are about to print the truth? Obama praises all the television news networks except Fox who he has waged war against. There must be a reason. He does not call them down on any specifics, just a general battle against them. If they lie, he should call them out on it but he doesn't. Please, find the truth, it will set you free.
Our biggest enemy is not China, Russia, Iran. No, our biggest enemy is a contingent of politicians in Washington, DC.
The Battleground is here. Remember the Fort Hood terrorist attack....the Day Political Correctness DIED. ------------------
Addendum from John:
Individually, no one of these factual observations are particularly damning evidence against Obama and his agenda; but taken together, a clear picture emerges about what kind of president we have elected - and what HE intends for America with his brand of leadership. Is this *really* what Americans want? I think not. But how did this happen?
Over our country's long history, the cumulative, prevailing, American political opinion bounces around, moving in an ebb and flow within reasonable political limits, never going too far toward either extreme. Wherever it may lie, it changes direction anyway, every few years with boring regularity. This is like a cyclic "sea change" and is nearly as periodic as the movement of the Sun and Moon. It's natural and it's healthy.
Typically, this averages roughly an 8 year cycle (with several exceptions.) People seem to simply *tire* of the Republican persuasion, or the Democrat persuasion, and periodically vote for "change" and choose the alternate party. The typical clarion call is "Vote the Bastards Out! We've had too much of them!"
Like a mechanical pendulum which has swung over to one side of the grandfather clock in the living room and stayed just a *little* bit too long, voters always seem to elect the opposition with glee, obviously forgetting with the passage of time the previous "out of power" party's prior errors, corruptions, or indiscretions, because that was a 8 long years ago. sometimes more. That is too long for most to remember history with acute clarity. This apparent amnesia, however, is explained in part by the fact new, young voters (read: inexperienced) are being added to the polls continuously; old ones with longer memories and experience die off. For whatever reasons voters, lamentably, *seem* as a group to have barely the attention span of a 3-year old. A good memory is NOT required, though, to find fault with those now in power, since voters are reminded in the daily news of those errors, corruptions, and indiscretions of the *current* party. Being fresh, recent political tomfoolery is more influential, overshadowing dim recollections that the "out of power" party got that way for good reason! They had done the same or much worse years ago. Nevertheless, today's party in power gets bounced out under the banner of "change" with boring regularity. And so it was in November 2008.
This is a natural, almost predictable event in America. It's healthy. it keeps one party (either party) in power from growing too fat and comfortable. Allowing one party to remain in power for extensive periods allows them to consolidate and expand their power which is not good. As we all know, "Power corrupts; absolute power corrupts absolutely."
By being thrown out, it wakes them up! Now they have to begin the scramble again to regain their lost power. So, they start again, first by reeducating themselves as to exactly WHAT the American voter feels he needs and wants, so they can tap that sentiment for their own purposes; that is, those very things the newly-ousted party had foolishly forgotten over the years. [Political parties, like the voters, also have the 3-year old's attention span.]
Once having relearned their lessons, they begin the long march back up the hill, trying to curry favor with the electorate for future elections and hopeful return to power. Sometimes it take several years for this "new enlightenment" to manifest itself, reorganize itself into a revised marketing plan, and garner popular support - again.
Through this cyclic charade, the American people do enjoy the best, overall treatment and their needs are ultimately met, by and large. THAT is the beauty of our traditional, two-party system. But there is a certain irony to this on-going process.
Curiously, it is not the party IN power which best addresses what the people want; it is the party OUT of power which serves that function because it is they who are motivated to solve those problems which need attention - because it is in their party's interest to do so! By directly seeking out those voter concerns, that party which is out of power is the one which fulfills the great promise of our Constitutional Republic.
[As an aside, I would quickly point out that our political process is a shining example of why, in microcosm, our *economic* system of Free Enterprise works so well - as one mirrors the other. There is competition! Unlike Communism where there is only one party, we have two (and sometimes more). If one party isn't doing the job well, the other one takes over because it appeals to the unmet demands of the voter, that once elected provides the best for the People. Power, not money, is their motive, but it works the same wonderful way. But I digress.]
So it was in 2008. It was the Democrat's turn. They claimed that they offered the desired "change." The people agreed. Obama was elected. I'm sure most voters sought the usual reversal of priorities, having tired of the Republican agenda, if nothing else out of boredom.
All this is well and good. By taking the "long view", meaning measured over a decade or several, the result *averages out*, keeping the American political focus pretty much in the CENTER, which is where it belongs.
But IMHO this natural, normal process went off the rails in 2008, although few of us recognized it back in November. The voter's intentions were clear. Obviously, they voted for "change", but they belatedly are finding that, yes, they sure as heck got "change" all right. IN SPADES. Unfortunately a far more radical version than they bargained for.
For example, most Obama supporters voted clearly expecting a change in direction of federal spending priorities. among other things. Those 90%+ of black voters certainly expected Obama, being black, to send ever more tax dollars back to the black community in the form of handouts or subsidies to lighten their economic load. This was a reasonable assumption, given that a black Obama would presumably be more sensitive to their black needs - or so they thought. Quite logical. However, as we see, that was not on his short list of priorities. Since I'm not black, I can't be certain, but I surmise a percentage of blacks are still anxiously waiting for their "big payoff" which doesn't seem to be happening. More blacks are out of work than when he was elected or inaugurated. Obama, as they find to their chagrin, had "bigger fish to fry" than merely fattening black wallets with white taxpayer's dollars.
What they (and all of us) found instead was that he proposes to change the fundamental structure of the relationship between the government and the people! Big difference! He proposes to self-grant the federal government FAR more control over structurally significant entities of our nation. Specifically, the banks (pending re-write of finance laws), big car companies (outright ownership of 60% of GM), power generating industry ("Cap and Trade" legislation), and total control over the entire health industry (ObamaCare), and that is just in the first 18 months! Imagine what this country will look like after 4 years of him!!!
Later, we can reasonably predict he will - among other things - make attempted incursions against our Second Amendment rights which, in effect, will progressively *disarm* most Americans of worthwhile weapons, leaving substantial firearm ownership solely to government-controlled entities, such as police and military, but not civilians. If we allow ourselves to be disarmed, we stop being citizens and start being "subjects." This will be a monumental power-grab attempt, depriving Americans of an essential feature of our Bill of Rights.
IMHO this is not what the average person wanted or expected. Spending priorities, yes; structural changes, no. They are clearly seeing that Obama, the Democrat Party leadership, et. al. are rapidly pushing us down the path to less individual choice and more Socialism.
Perhaps over-arching all of this political drama is the matter of profligate spending. Even the least educated, most dim-witted American of whatever party basically understands that you cannot continuously spend MORE money than you have without expecting an eventual catastrophe! Everybody understands in their heart that doubling the national debt within his first 4 years in office, and TRIPLING it within 10 years, according to Obama's budget, will bring certain disaster, sooner or later. The Piper MUST be PAID, one way or the other. This puts dire fear in their hearts, although not fully comprehending how the Day of Reckoning will manifest itself. Whether this past due bill will be paid by a national economic Depression, devaluation of the dollar against world currencies, adverse Balance of Trade, less government-provided social programs, higher personal and corporate taxes, reduction in our standard of living, cutting of Social Security benefits to retirees, more expensive commodities we all buy every day, OR all of the above - nobody really knows at this point.
So, how are the people reacting? The Republicans have not been out of office for so long that people have forgotten the GOP was partly responsible for prior buildup of national debt, their own form of corruption, etc. They haven't. The dissidents, therefore, are NOT necessarily flocking back to rejoin the Republicans. At the same time, they are *enraged* with the Democrats. What to do? They are taking the logical course.
The results are obvious in the news. The so-called Tea Party represents this dissatisfaction, but their demands are "people vs government", not Republican vs Democrat. Tea Partiers are NOT beholden to the Republicans, nor to the Democrats. They constitute the "Middle Ground." Observe that voters are now registering as Independents in larger percentages than ever before! They ARE the "middle ground" I mentioned earlier - and demand that politicians come back to them, in the middle; not to be dragged, kicking and screaming, out farther to the Left, as Obama wants.
Speaking of Obama, which is what this is all about, what is the bottom line as applies to him? Remember that 8 year cycle? Events taking place all across the nation demonstrate it is going to take FAR less than that for the pendulum to swing back. (Think 36-year incumbent, far Left Senator Teddy Kennedy's seat going to a moderate Republican.) Some people say this time will only take TWO years. Sound crazy? Not really. It happened to Clinton in 1994, only two years after being elected he got his agenda trounced - because he tried to push America FAR to the Left, FAR too rapidly. Angst and anger have already surpassed that evident in Nov 1994. Whatever happens in Nov 2010, we will STILL have Obama for another two years (barring, of course, a premature death of some kind.) But what is at stake is his support in Congress. Without that, he is still powerful and dangerous, but his agenda will be doomed. Toast. Obama has created a dichotomy between what most people want and what he wants to deliver to them. They wanted a "change" in priorities, not change in the fundamental structure of the compact between the People and the leaders they elect to govern them.
We want a more effective Free Enterprise System, not Socialism or Communism. We DON'T want Obama's "income redistribution", a bankrupt nation, nor to be deprived of free choice. We expect to be CONSULTED, not RULED. We put those people in power; we can remove them just as easily.
