Dearest Forum Members! I'm certainly no PC genius, but i've learned a bit from others and in Internet cafes. I suppose most of you are familiar with the top row of buttons above the smileys. I wish someone told me about them when i first came to a forum. Of course if you click the first box or button marked B, you get the brackets for darkened letters.. Just post what you want darkened between the brackets that appear..Test the other boxes too with the same procedure, if you're learning.
For posting images can be done easily on this site www.tinypic.com where you can upload them and copy and paste the URL link on your post., Of you need the proper anti-virus software and have to download them first. I had to shown all that step by step of course!

Oh Anna, you're the graphics queen!
For technophobes like me and Mike it's hard enough trying to cope with the basics of the new technology!
Today I bought a voice recording machine and it took us an hour to work out how to use it! Even now we're still not quite sure!

If the owner of an internet cafe wasn't so helpful with me i'd be at square 1 still! Anyone who wants an online collection of images can start a cost free account at www. There you can always copy and repaste the links to the forums. I overfilled my album and it gets shutdown 7 days a week. One of photobucket's pressure methods to get you to buy their Pro account. I guess i'll have to scale down my album.
Most of us don't have time to go to a computer course, but the owners and personnel of internet cafe's can give valuable advice and show procedures in slow motion for dummies like me!

Good thread, Anna. Thanks! My current question has to do with sizing. According to the info available in the pro boards profile section, avatar graphics need to be 100 x 100. But, that's so small I'm not interested - about the size of a postage stamp. I see many avatars that seem larger than that. Can you comment on the best way to create an avatar at a size that will look decent and still post?

Dearest Beth! If you have an offsite link to your avatar than as a rule it seems like they can be larger than the images you try to download on your forum profile directly! All my avatars to date here have offsite links and i haven't ever tried to upload my avatars on this site. I'm sure you noticed the blank for offsite links to your avatar. Then too sometimes they don't show up and so i replace the 100 100 size with 65 65 or 50 50 and then if the image appears i remodify back to 100 100. On other forums my favorite avatars were often rejected in the forum's uploader so i don't even try anymore. Go to www.tinypic.com and upload your avatar there-it's free! Then copy the direct link, which will be given along with 3 other links to your image at tinypic. Then just paste the link onto the direct link for avatars and you shouldn't have a problem. Give me the image if you're not sure how to procede!

Thank you, anna. That seems pretty clear. I had tried to link from Photo Bucket in the past without much luck. I'll give this a try, maybe over the weekend, and we'll see how it goes. Thanks again!

I have a number of sources for posting alphabets. Names for instance! This is one of my favorite sites. www.lanasalphacreations.com/index.html Of course if you're not PC savy like me the downloads and uploads are probably better done in an internet cafe where normally there is often someone around to explain the procedure!
