Two years ago I received a devastating medical diagnosis following a hospital scan.
I was told that I was suffering from an incurable condition known as corticobasal degeneration for which there is no cure and no treatment. It is a related condition to Parkinson's but the drugs that can help to control that disease are ineffective against CBD.
As a result I am mentally and emotionally preparing myself for death. My brain is slowly dying and already I am becoming forgetful, finding it hard to focus and concentrate, having difficulties with my balance and co-ordination and so on.
I do not believe that I will be able to finish my planned work on philosophy, 'Being and Consciousness.'
Perhaps I should post the sections I have completed on this forum.

Yes post that! It'd be met with interest here. _____________________________________________________ ..Psst! hey Mike. Why don't monsters eat ghosts?
They taste like sheet!

I still go by what Reader's Digest told us; humor is the best medicine. And it's more pleasant than focusing on the seriousness of matters. Did you see that old movie, Beetlejuice (with Michael Keaton)? It showed someone in the face of death, ignoring it and just being joy while he can, without a care about later! Also "Michael" with John Travolta, conveys a similarly wonderful message: Enjoy it all like it's the first time! Be totally in the moment, like a child in discovery.
I'm in the same boat (I may live 5 years, or 5 minutes, I can't know, so I don't think of it anymore. It would be wasting what time I do have! And as we know prognosis about life expectancy sometimes just aren't accurate. And treatments change. Hold on to hope and love and you, dear Mike. I took comfort in my collection of Warren Xevon appearances on Letterman. It covers 15 years of his career as a loved regular on that show. He'd fill in for Paul Schaeffer at times. And he and Dave were actual friends. Anyway, he tells us at some point, his time was short. And Dave asks him if he'd acquired any wisdom from facing such a situation..did he have advice to share, and he said, "Enjoy every sandwich." Simple words, but Xevon was a brilliant guy! Relish the moments.

Mike, the doctors can be very pessimistic. I have known of people who where told they had so and so time left, but lived way beyond those years.
Please do not give up hope.
Same goes for you, Hunny,
You are both much loved, and appreciated.
And I wish you the best

Thank you for your kind words, Hunny and Deyana.
I am trying to remain positive but I know that my condition is deteriorating.
