Cool.
Hey why do the English say "maths", as if it's plural..? My Mum used to say it like that (as she was informing us how terrible she was at it, I mean them LOL)

I guess they say 'maths' rather than 'math' because it's "mathematics" not "mathematic".

I guess they say 'maths' rather than 'math' because it's "mathematic s" not "mathematic". That's gotta be it. Ya know, I'm at least a little smart, but in all the years I've lived (no more than 30 or so, I assure you.) *nose grows a couple feet* it never occurred to me she spoke in shorthand. Thanks Doug! Keep posting. .. Hello

From the article: “[Jeremiah Horrocks] was the first person to prove that the Earth was not the centre of creation, destroying key precepts of Christian teachings, and the primacy of a literal interpretation of the Bible in the process.”
I didn't take Philosophy. I deemed it redundant training in 'interpreting and arguing'. And there's only so much time for things. But recently I befriended a Philosophy Professor (she teaches Kant); and I've read all her papers and bought The 3 Critiques and other books. So I know a little Kant. BUT I RESENT THAT WOMAN now! (lol) So when I found Carl Sagan describing Kant's thinking as "ridiculous folly" (his assertion that without man, the universe would have no point) ..well, I'm human, I enjoyed seeing her precious out-of-date hero get trashed by a Professor I DO respect. Ha huh huh!

The longstanding view, as summarized by the Philosopher Immanuel Kant, that "without man, the whole of creation would be a mere wilderness, a thing in vain, and have no final end" is revealed to be self-indulgent folly. We have not been given the lead in the cosmic drama. - Carl Sagan
I enjoyed the read. Thanks for that link, Lin.
