Mike and I went to the final celebration in Parliament Square yesterday. There were around 5000 people there and we'd hoped for more even though it had been raining earlier and London is a Remainer city.
What disappointed us more was the appalling acoustics so unless you were right at the front you couldn't hear anything.
It took about an hour and a half to get going.
Somehow it seemed a very low-key event and the crowd wasn't that enthusiastic which surprised us.
Of course we cheered and shouted but often we had to encourage others around us to do the same.
Maybe we're all just weary from the three and half years of fighting for our freedom?
But at least we've finally left.

Well, sadly my husband was too young to vote in 1975 and I wasn't even born till three years later!
Apparently the acoustic problems were the result of deliberate sabotage by Saddo Khant. He refused to allow fireworks or amplifiers to be used so the pathetic volume of sound could barely be heard at the back (where we were.)

Good luck with the new system! (I do hope it all works out without too many hardships along the way). It will be interesting to see how the UK fares from now on, I will be watching
Signed: Remainer.

Well, I think that the EU is collapsing anyway (something many of its members are now admitting.)
But fundamentally it is authoritarian, anti-workers' rights and it's CREATED a climate in which the far right flourish.
I believe that we will be better off out than in and I am anything BUT xenophobic, racist or some kind of nostalgic Little Englander.
But to me the EU is Goebbels' vision of Europe and NOT the free, democratic, libertarian and tolerant society I want to live in.
If the Remainers hadn't tried to STOP the result of the biggest democratic vote being implemented most of the bitterness of the last three and a half years wouldn't have happened.
Calling Leavers thick, stupid, ignorant, not knowing what they were voting for, racist, fascist, xenophobic and so on just put our backs up.
My Jamaican, Guyanese, Indian, Sri Lankan, Pakistani and Polish friends were NOT motivated by ANY of those things when they voted to Leave.
Nor have any of them changed their mind since (though I know twenty Remainers personally who have now changed their minds.)
