Climbing mountains is great fun; I've climbed them in Britain, Austria, Switzerland, Germany and France. I love the freedom, the challenge, the pure air and the exhilaration when you reach the summit. And if you're properly trained and equipped it's normally fine. I admit I haven't risked the Himalayas or Kilimanjaro or the Andes! People have died, is it really worth the risk. I don't think so, as those who love you would be heartbroken, don't you care? Your biggest chance of dying is in your home. I'm an experienced climber who's been fully trained. Yes, there's always danger in life whatever you do. But the risk is worth it IMO for the benefits. You live in a land full of poisonous snakes and spiders; is that really worth the risk?

I rarely see poisonous spiders since I live in a built up area, but I was bitten by a venomous snake which was quite surprising, so you do have a point. There is always the possibility of an avalanche and it is still happening on Mount Everest, besides not having enough oxygen as people are still dying. There is talk of discontinuing the amount of climbers allowed to climb. They photographed a long queue which of course is ridiculous. The Sherpas surely couldn't cope with so many people who might need to be saved.

I have heard that that it the same reason that some people ingest illegal drugs. There is a vague memory of when they were Soul in one of the spiritual realms. Everything is Bliss.

Have to agree with Scottish Lassie on this one. I've been reading about climbers dying when attempting to scale Mt Everest. They pay huge fees for the right to climb and then the die in the attempt. Not the smartest way to end your life.

The most interesting country? That's difficult - there are so many things that make a number of places unique. Switzerland and Austria for the scenery; Austria for the most beautiful capital city; Italy for the art, architecture and history; Turkey for Istanbul's rich heritage; America for the Grand Canyon; Canada for shopaholics (the Edmonton Mall seems to go on for ever!); Spain for the Alhambra; San Marino for being the oldest (and I think smallest) republic in the world. I mean, I'm not a beach type of person; I'd rather climb mountains, walk in woods or explore historical sites and museums than laze on the beach sunbathing. I'm definitely not into climbing mountains as I see it as frivolous with the possibity of endangering human life which I see as being precious. I'm all for walking through woods, have even hugged a tree which certainly invigorates a person. Exploring historical sites and visiting museums are also on the agenda for me as it so interesting to see how people lived in the past.

It certainly isn't. You have to understand that should you die as a result of there not being enough oxygen to sustain life or an avalanche claims your life. The people who love you dearly are going to be heartbroken, maybe for the rest of their lives.
