I love the way colour and new growth fills the trees and plants and everything around.

Just that the winter is behind us! But yes, all the lovely blooms and colors of Spring as well.

What I like about Spring is the perfume that the new flowers and shrubs give off, plus the humming sound of the bees gathering pollen. It is so soothing.

Question of the Day:
What is the longest time you have kept awake?

About two days; I was extremely stressed out at the time and just couldn't get to sleep.

The longest time I stayed awake was probably when I was in labor with my first kid. I was totally exhausted after it was all over!

The longest time I stayed awake was probably when I was in labor with my first kid. I was totally exhausted after it was all over! I do believe that if you gently exercise from the very beginning then the labour ( English ) is much easier and quicker and less painful. It's just like when you do gardening after a long time, all your muscles ache. So exercising your abdominal muscles gently will always help.

SL, yes I think so too. Although the first baby always seems to be the hardest to birth with most women. Compare my first kid - 36 hours in labor. And my second - about half hour! I just about made it up the to the labor ward.

God, yes, the first baby is always the hardest. My second and third were pretty easy but my first was a nightmare. It was so bad that I nearly died.

What is the most interesting place/country you have visited so far? Germany where my ex came from, and Australia where I live now. I could elaborate by saying the spiritual planes where I have visited quite a few times.

I have never had any interest in visiting Australia, I'm not sure why.
Maybe it's the heat for the poisonous spiders, snakes and such...

I have never had any interest in visiting Australia, I'm not sure why. Maybe it's the heat for the poisonous spiders, snakes and such... You never know when you are going to encounter them. I was working in the garden pulling weeds and I came across a tuft of grass with baby red backs swarming over it. They are very poisonous and you could die if not treated. I was also bitten by a venomous snake and lived to tell the tale even though I received no treatment. I was sitting on the couch when suddenly I felt so ill that I thought I was going to die, then suddenly I was my normal self again. I count that as a miracle.

The most interesting country? That's difficult - there are so many things that make a number of places unique.
Switzerland and Austria for the scenery; Austria for the most beautiful capital city; Italy for the art, architecture and history; Turkey for Istanbul's rich heritage; America for the Grand Canyon; Canada for shopaholics (the Edmonton Mall seems to go on for ever!); Spain for the Alhambra; San Marino for being the oldest (and I think smallest) republic in the world.
I mean, I'm not a beach type of person; I'd rather climb mountains, walk in woods or explore historical sites and museums than laze on the beach sunbathing.

I mean, I'm not a beach type of person; I'd rather climb mountains, walk in woods or explore historical sites and museums than laze on the beach sunbathing. That's a pretty good list Lin. There are so many countries I'd like to visit and can't really comment on because I haven't been there. Another problem with this is that visiting one or two cities doesn't really mean that you've seen the country any more than changing planes at the Frankfurt airport would mean that you've seen Germany. I can say that we've been all over France, Italy, and Spain. I really like all three of those countries. I could add Croatia to that list. Food, historical sites, scenery, and friendly people all get check marks there. My only exposure to the UK would be a couple London trips. I liked the subway and disliked that it seemed to rain every day I was there. Similarly, I've been to Istanbul several times but never anyplace else in Turkey. Canada and the USA are so large and varied that you would need to wander around for at least a month or two before you could legitimately claim to know the country. Take Canada for example. There is the rugged Noa Scotia coastline, the soshiiticated French cuisine in Montreal, the scenic mountainous region around Calgary and Lake Louise, Vancouver, and the rest of Britsh Columica. You haven't really seen America until you've been to Hawaii, San Francisco, Alaska, Texas, Minnesota, Arizona, Maine, Florida,Yosemite, the Grand Canyon, and more. Two of the least representative destinations, NYC and Las Vegas, are amongst the most visited. I'd love to explore New Zealand, Egypt, Thailand, Singapore, Hong Kong, VietNam, Peru, Chile, Iceland, and the Greek Islands. Love travel.

I can understand the other things that you mentioned, but why climbing mountains? That must be a pretty dangerous pursuit.

Climbing mountains is great fun; I've climbed them in Britain, Austria, Switzerland, Germany and France.
I love the freedom, the challenge, the pure air and the exhilaration when you reach the summit.
And if you're properly trained and equipped it's normally fine.
I admit I haven't risked the Himalayas or Kilimanjaro or the Andes!
