Yes indeed. It unfortunately appears that these mainstream media outlets are controlled by the Democratic National Committee (DNC) and have a coordinated effort to topple the President, Their strategy is "Death by 1000 Cuts". By publishing many articles and TV news reports denigrating the President, they are hoping that the public will gradually swing to their side. When you hear 1000 negative reports, the theory goes, you will eventually succumb to their negative viewpoint. This is a cornerstone principle of propaganda, The Nazis and Chairman Mao would be proud of their students, these Democrats.

The problem is that people are too polarised in their opinions. Some seem incapable of seeing any good in Trump; others seem incapable of finding fault with him.
Surely the rational attitude is to be cautious, suspicious but open-minded?
Some of what Trump has said and done is good; some I feel is bad.
But I do get weary of the knee-jerk reactions from left and right.
Why do these people find it so difficult to think for themselves rather than just follow the brainwashed line of the propagandists of left and right?

I could post video compilations of Trump's words and how the media twisted and invented quotes for Trump.
The media should suffer the same fate that baseball umpires + football referees suffer if they show bias and make bad calls.

Hi Lin - What Anna is correctly pointing out is the measurable and undeniable bias in the media. You're right about knee jerk reactions left and right amongst the public. But that's not the topic here. This is about media bias which is really undeniable. The media has so much influence on public opinion. This is a sad situation because an independent media is suppose to give us honest reporting. Sadly, it does not.

You won't have an 'independent' media unless it's small-scale. All the big networks have to toe the line that their bosses want them to.
Whether it's Fox - broadly right-wing - or CNN - broadly left-wing - it's all down to the fact that they're large networks whose bosses call the shots.
To get a genuinely independent media you'd have to break up all the big corporate networks and only allow media on a very small scale.
Otherwise you end up with monopoly, selective reporting and propaganda being passed off as news.
It's not just an American problem; it happens all over the place.
Whenever the state or large corporations dominate you won't have anything resembling a free and independent media.

Lin - the question is, "Why are they media?" is it because they want to report objective and unbiased news? Is it because they want to make a profit as a successful business? I don't think so. Most of them have an agenda and are trying to advance their own political position. CNN and MSNBC are the worst of the worst

The media are employees of the corporations that employ them.
The reason they say what they do is because that's what their owners want of them.
It's because they are owned by people with their own agenda.
Whether it's far left, far right, centrist or whatever that's how it works.
I know the same news story will be reported with a different slant - and often with a lot of facts left out - in media with different agendas.
If you're a sheeple you'll swallow what they say; if (like me) you're an independent thinker you'll take ALL of them with a large pinch of salt.

Generally, I read The New York Times and The New Yorker. Both publications are sound. Face it, Trump is insane. He is a menace and the sooner (and by whatever means) we get rid of him, the better off we'll be. In the meanwhile the U.S. should mobilize for 2018.

Trump has quite a few warts but is certainly a far better President than Obama, Bill clinton, LBJ, or Jimmy Carter. He's almost an infinitely better choice than Hillary Clinton or (gasp) Bernie Sanders.

Btw, you should be grateful that President Obama delivered us from another Great Depression.

I am amazed it took Harvard Uni to work this out I could have told them this for free! it's perfectly obvious! Yes, but the whole point was so that Harvard had an excuse to get a lot of money to waste their time on saying something everyone knows anyway. Universities have turned into money factories and have almost nothing to do with education.
