I believe that belief in God is superior to Atheism, but the scriptures of Islam are very disturbing. When Mohammad imagined Allah, and when Jesus imagined God, they perceived an imaginary figure watching over Planet Earth and keeping tabs on the action of each and every one of us. Did you pray five times today? Did you eat pork? Did you kill someone? He knows all. This imaginary god is focused on Earth's inhabitants and gives preferences to those who believe in him. What the inventors of these religions didn't consider is our place in the bigger picture. Our Earth is one of the planets orbiting around our Sun, which is one of the smaller stars in our galaxy, which is known as the Milky Way. The Milky Way, just one of the galaxies we've identified thus far, contains between 200 and 400 billion stars and at least 100 billion planets. One billion is 1,000 million, so that's a lot of stars. Galaxies range in size from dwarfs with just a few thousand stars to giants with one hundred trillion stars. That's one hundred trillion, a really big number of stars just like our Sun. Approximately 170 billion (1.7 × 1011) to 200 billion (2.0 × 1011) galaxies exist in the observable universe. So, with this incredible number of galaxies and stars, do you think we can safely assume that our one planet circling our one star is the only one being watched over by Allah, or God, or whatever his name is? Since our solar system is the only one that we really know much about, do you think ours is the only planet in existence with life on it? With so many billions of other stars isn't it likely that at least some of them have planets with similar conditions to Earth? Is Allah watching all the creatures on all of them too? If so, he's a very busy guy.
