Model Defends against Body Slamming Trolls

(CNN)Gigi Hadid is not here for any body-shaming.

The supermodel posted a long message on her Instagram account Monday aimed at those who say she is too voluptuous.

"No, I don't have the same body type as the other models in the shows," Hadid wrote on her account. "I represent a body image that wasn't accepted in high-fashion before."

Saying, "Yes, I have abs, I have a butt, I have thighs, but I'm not asking for special treatment," the model is not letting the haters get to her.

"Your mean comments don't make me want to change my body, they don't make me want to say no to the designers that ask me to be in their shows, and they definitely don't change the designers opinions of me," she wrote.

Hadid has walked the runways for such high-fashion lines as Chanel and Versace.

When will the fashion industry see reality? Most women are not 6 feet tall and 125 ib! (Who'd want to be?). That's skeletal.

Voluptuous? I hardly think she has that kind of figure. To me she is underweight rather than overweight.

But sadly the anorexic fantasy is literally killing or injuring thousands of idiotic people who fall for the propaganda.

According to her statistics she is about 4lb underweight.

She is 5'10 apparently and 126lbs assuming those figures are accurate.

Her BMI came out at 18.

To put it into perspective I looked up the BMI of a top jockey who have to be light to do
their job and his BMI was 20. Mind you I suppose they need more strength

I have never heard of her anyway, well not til a few days ago.

I;d never heard of her either, maybe her way of getting more publicity for herself?. its getting boring now , there are a number of similar claims made each week it seems!

I agree that there is nothing voluptuous there. Pictures add weight, so you are probably right about her being underweight.

The fashion industry needs to take some of the responsibility for the low self esteem and as you pointed out the anorexics out there. If kids in school made the same comments as those in the fashion industry did about her, the kids would be labeled bullies.

well i had never heard of her before she started going on about these "trolls" i am always very cynical about stuff like this
