These political correctness slimers actually have the gall to say that the "God Bless" Greeting is a violation of the First Amendment! They should be thankful they live in a country which allows them to babble their foolish views in public and even attempt to intimidate others. www.foxnews.com/us/2015/09/27/god-bless-greeting-lands-louisiana-school-in-hot-water-with-aclu/ QUOTE: ACLU targeting Louisiana school over educator's 'God Bless You' greetingSept. 27, 2015 The ACLU of Louisiana is accusing a high school of promoting Christianity in an open letter on Friday because a student group hung prayer boxes and the principal ended an online letter with “May God Bless You All.” Louisiana ACLU Executive Director Marjorie Esman said in a letter published by the Shreveport Times that Airline High School violated the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution by allowing the Fellowship of Christian Athletes to set up prayer boxes that feature “Christian Symbols.” Esman’s letter also noted Principal Jason Rowland closed a September 2015 message to the school’s website with “The Future Starts Today – May God Bless You All.” “The United States Constitution requires public schools to ensure that state-supported activity is not used for religious indoctrination,” the letter, which was addressed to superintendent D.C. Machen, states. It alleges that Rowland also “encouraged students to ‘pray to the Almighty God.’” “This is typical of the ACLU. They’re on a seek-and-destroy mission for all things religious" - Rep. Mike Johnson No official action will occur until the school board meets on Oct.1, but the claims addressed in the letter have already been placed on the meeting’s agenda, according to the Shreveport Times. “In the meantime, please understand that the Bossier Parish School System enjoys an established record of achievement,” a statement from Parish spokeswoman Sonja Bailes said. “Such success is due in large part to the fact that, as in this case, the system respects both the law and the religious beliefs of all its students and employees.” While school officials are holding their tongues for the time being, other state groups and officials have begun speaking out. Louisiana State Rep. Mike Johnson, R-Bossier City, has offered free legal services to the Parish and Rowland, according to the Times. “This is typical of the ACLU,” he said. “They’re on a seek-and-destroy mission for all things religious.” He added: “I hope the school will stand its ground.” Freedom Guard, a non-profit public interest law firm, has also offered free legal defense to Airline High School, according to KSLA. Airline High School is in Bossier City, which lies east of Red River, about 3 miles from Shreveport. kronks Big Lin mikemarshall @menantol Scottish Lassie blc deyana interestedbob

The first amendment protects their right to use those words.

Effectively they are trying to use this to make the USA an officially atheist country.
Atheism is benefiting from not being considered a religion, however it is a belief same as religion and the removal of religion from everything is leaving the religion of atheism as the official state religion.
The USA has lost it's way.
The Kim Davis case highlights that, it is sleepwalking into atheism.

What is important is whether they are enlightened enough that they care enough about other people so as not to deliberately want to harm them. To me, that is what counts. We who believe in God know that what a person sows that is what they will reap.So even though some people don't believe it to be true, the law still holds true for everyone. And remember that each person has the right to make their own choices and we cannot interfere with that, regardless whether we agree with their choice or not.

What bothers me is when the law unnecessarily interferes with someone's religion beliefs, there is not reason for it to do so in this case in my opinion, and that is wrong as it is disrespectful of their beliefs.

Hi Kronks, when I was at school we were given reliigious instruction and nobody said boo, but no doubt some atheists must have complained that they didn't want their children to be given religious instruction so it was discontinued. It seems you can't please everybody!!! As for Kim Davis, I said before that she was hired to do a job and she deliberately reneged on her responsibility to carry out the duty that was required of her, and that was issuing marriage licences. The law of the land is to be adhered to, or you pay the price. God will take care of the rest.

The law is supposed to protect the free exercise of religion, it has failed in the duty because she is forced to resign or go to jail to freely exercise her religious beliefs. The new law did not exist when she took up the job, so if she had to resign she should be compensated. However there is no need for her to resign as other arrangements could be made to allow the gay couples to marry and for her to stay in her job. Those arrangements should have been made however they were not because other people failed to do their jobs properly. So ironic then, that she is being jailed for not doing her job, when the real fault lies with others who didn't do their jobs properly, but were not jailed! So basically a failure of the legal system.

Whether a person makes the decision to be a Theist or an Atheist, that is a personal choice and therefore is not classed as compulsory. She was not hired because of her personal choice.

As an aside, look at that recent mass shooting in Oregon. The shooter was targeting Christians.

So what happened to free speech? Sometimes I think the world has gone crazy. What should we do to promote peace between believers and non believers. We can have governnment schools where we have religious instruction and those who do not wish to have it, may leave the room and join another class for the time that the religious instruction is in progress.
You can also have schools where religious instruction is taught for those who want it and leave the public schools to the Atheists, which is what is happenin at the present time. Or you can class 'belief in God' as a personal choice and confine tuition to the churches, and have believers and nonbelievers attending the same school with no mention of God at all. People should be able to make a choice without all the hullabaloo that takes place.
