And the worker there was telling them off for making a scene! How rude, after they just munched on that disgusting sandwich.

Many years back we noticed little bugs on the lettuce at McDonald's. A bunch of us had gone there for lunch from work. Not my first choice but each day someone else got to pick. No one picked McDonald's for a LONG time after that.

Hi Deyana, but it was Protein, so why quibble? Yuck, they can keep that their protein if it's in that form! It has been said Deyana, that when a person is starving, they will eat anything. And I think this could be true!!!

Yuck, they can keep that their protein if it's in that form! I guess the guy's pregnant wife wasn't starving enough to eat that crap.

The couple should be compensated big time. Not only for having to endure that gross sandwich but for having to put with the rude service of the Subway Staff. Totally unacceptable.

Hi Deyana, I see the situation from the point of view of both sides. I feel for the person who bit into the sandwich, but I also feel for the proprietors. People are going in and out of the premises, opening doors all the time, so blowflies are all too ready to fly in and land on the food, without the busy servers noticing. Who wants a fuss and a carry on when it might end up with the owners losing their customers and maybe going out of business. What would you do under the circumstances if you were the proprietor? It is one of those situations that sometimes is very hard to prevent no matter how careful you are. Very sad and unfortunate, for sure!!! But the customer wasn't really harmed, I wouldn't have wanted to have been the poor maggot, being chewed alive, just think of the pain that it suffered. It does seem that there are many aspects of the situation to have been considered before deciding what steps should have been taken, but I suppose it is too late now if the story has already been made public.

I certainly get the impression that you are all too ready to bring someone down, without having given due consideration to the situation, by weighing up all the pro's and cons of the case. A person's livelihood is dependant on the outcome, plus those of the staff if the business closes. What an upheaval for everyone concerned and all because of a hungry blowfly.

Asians don't think so, neither do the Aboriginals of Australia who eat witchety grubs, which are similar to maggots but as big as caterpillers.
