Today is "Memorial Day" in the US. Americans who served in the military are honored. The educational system in the US has been so dumbed down that many "educated" Americans seem to have no idea of their own history.
The video is funny, but rather saddening too.

If the YouTube video is taken down again a downsized version of the video is on this link: www.glennbeck.com/2014/05/29/watch-this-video-proves-just-how-broken-our-education-system-is/ WATCH: This video proves just how broken our education system isMay 29, 2014 Glenn’s latest book CONFORM: Exposing the Truth About Common Core and Public Education focuses a lot on the dangers of a nationalized set of standards, but it also takes a look at the problems that plague our public education system more generally. Perhaps there is no greater indication of the failure of American education than a video aired on The O’Reilly Factor earlier this week. On Memorial Day, O’Reilly Factor correspondent Jesse Watters headed to a Long Island beach to ask beachgoers basic U.S. history questions like “Who did America fight in the Revolutionary War?” and “What was the Civil War about?” Needless to say, the answers will make your head explode.

BBC concocted this silly rap hip hop video to try to teach the history of World War I to dumbed down and uninterested students.
Also pathetic IMO.

Unfortunately history in the media has been turned into yet another branch of the entertainment industry.

As a history buff, I love having the Internet available. Wikipedia is very handy for quick references.
For instance, my wife's favorite stew recipe is Veal Marengo. The cookbook author mentioned that the dish was invented by Napoleon's personal cook at the Battle of Marengo. Easy to flip over to Wikipedia and refresh memory of what happened in that decisive battle. I do that all the time when reading news articles

Also sad is with the common core being taught in schools, children are not being taught the truth on the Pilgrims and Civil war.
