Blogger Horace Dediu put together this very interesting chart which shows that PC sales growth has finally stopped rising, and in fact has begun to fall. People are buying tablets in large numbers. This is what's disrupting the PC market. I don't believe tablets, like the iPad, are a suitable replacement for a PC. They overlap somewhat in functionality, one being better than the other for some things, and vice versa. Rather than replacing their PC with a tablet, I think people are postponing upgrade of their PC and using available funds to buy an iPad or other tablet. It is an addition to their digital inventory, not a replacement for their PC. No matter how you slice it, this is not a pretty picture for Microsoft. It is a trend that I believe with continue.

I brought a Samsung Galaxy, which has an internet connection. It's much smaller than the iPads.

I brought a Samsung Galaxy, which has an internet connection. It's much smaller than the iPads. does it work well? It's very small and compact. It's hard to post on the forums with it because of the tiny letters, etc. that you have to type in. But just reading and watching YouTube videos is fine. I'm glad I didn't get one of those big things.
