Ah, yes, he is a most interesting man.
Slightly eccentric in some of his views but a brilliant man nonetheless.

One of the few people I truly miss outside of family. As a scientist and a teacher, I really appreciate how good he was at taking complex scientific principles and putting them in terms a lay person could understand. I have read most of his writings, and I have the picture of earth from 4 billion miles away which was taken by voyager framed on my wall.It helps keep me realizing that we are insignificant in the cosmos. I don't know how many times I watched the series "Cosmos". I enjoy it and learn something every time I rewatch it. Just for your information- if you don't have fancast in your favorites you are missing something. here is the site where all 13 episodes of 'Cosmos" can be watched. www.fancast.com/tv/Cosmos/9928/full-episodesit's great for all your old forgotten programs you loved years ago. Currently I am watching all 37 episodes of " Have Gun- Will Travel" which is from 1956-57 but was never picked up and shown as reruns by any of the networks.Paladin was pretty cool back then. It also has a lot of the old really sick sci fi movies I grew up on and loved so much. Yesterday I watched " Empire of the Ants" again. It's hilarious. search "fancast" and I guarantee you some pleasant memories brought back to life.

Thanks for the nice link, gg. This one is new to me. I've seen the Cosmos series all the way through twice, plus viewing some of the episodes more as others watched them. Sagan had a true gift for bringing the wonder of science to the masses without making us feel talked down to. He was a gentleman a teacher and a charismatic entertainer.
