I find that I tend to swing depending on the issue.

There shouldnt be parties. It's stupid to pit the people of a country against each other pretending that's a way to run things.

I'm a mixture of things depending on the issues. For instance I'm strongly against the Eureopean Union but I;m anti-racist; I support capital punishment but also prison reform; I want to cut the welfare bill but don;'t believe in leaving people in poverty; I'm anticapitalist but also antisocialist; I'm pro-choice but don't like women using abortion as a substitute contraception; and I haven;'t voted for the same party two elections running.

The American's "Republican" Party should never be voted for, ever under any circumstances. Swing voters and fascists have destroyed this country by giving them power!

I don't think that's necessarily the case, Hunny. The problem is that in recent years the Republican Party has stopped being a genuinely national party and now represents the interests of the religious right and big business.
People like Grant, McKinley, Roosevelt, Taft, Hoover, Dewey, Eisenhower, Goldwater, Nixon and Ford must be turning in their grave at the shambles it's turned into these days.
As far as I can make out William Buckley is the main culprit responsible for this disastrous change in its political direction.
McCain was at least the best candidate the Republicans had put forward since Ford; pity he hadn't got the nomination in 2000 or maybe even 1996

I really admire GW Bush, Dick Cheney, Condoleeza Rice. Liked Rumsfeld. Couldn't stand Bill Clinton. Can't stand Obama. Despise Nancy Pelosi, Barbara Boxer, Chuck Schumer, and most of the Democrats. Didn't like McCain or Sarah Palin. Totally admire Romney.

There shouldnt be parties. It's stupid to pit the people of a country against each other pretending that's a way to run things. Adversity and competition bring out the best in people. When only one mindset rules a country and thus has absolute power it inevitably becomes corrupt with no opposition to stop it and misuses it's power!
Absolute power corrupts absolutely!

Cheney was a conscious traitor who violated the USX constitution more than any other Veep. Rumsfeld was a psychopathic crook. Condi Riusce wasn't bad. Romney is a hypocritical clown who can't hold an idea in his head for more than five seconds before changing his mind¬ The point is that there are good and bad Democrats and good and bad Republicans. Overall the Republicans are the worse ofr the two because they've become totallty dominagted by the religious ri8ght.

I don't agree that adversity brings out the best in people.
But I do agree that any kind of totalitarian mindset like you get on the far right and far left is always bad news fror a country

Historians will give GW Bush a big thumbs up.
I've been watching Ken Burn's wonderful multi-episode history of the American Civil War. It's the second time I've watched it.
Burns does a great job of explaining what happened using actual photographs taken during the war. That was when photography was just a novelty but he managed to find a lot of great photos.
One of my 'take aways' is that Lincoln was perhaps America's greatest President, but he was widely hated while in office and immediately afterwards. He was much less popular than GW Bush at that time. There were so many dead soldiers on both sides. Our recent cumulative Iraq war losses over the entire ten years might equal about one third of our losses in a single major battle during the Civil War.
Lincoln got little recognition for his greatness during his lifetime. But historians elevated him.
Bush dealt with 9/11, the Taliban, Saddam, etc. He acquitted himself quite well. History will acknowledge him too.
Did you know that Lincoln was a Republican? The pro-slavery members of Congress were Democrats.

EVERYONE knows that lincoln was a republican. of course, he was a decent man, so he was a jacob javitz, mark hatfield, pete mccloskey republican
