I have half a dozen different types of sleeping pills for this dilemma! I believe they are the lesser of the evils. I'm very strung out on coffee, caffeinated of course, and take this upper anti depressant en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reboxetine . Night shift work that I don't care to discuss here is probably the core of the problem for me.

Wow, they're doing research to do away with sleep? ! That's amazing.

That doesn'[t sound a healthy lifestyle Anna; night shifts sound like a real problem.

I truly love sleep........I would be seriously ticked off if some idiots got rid of sleep. I'm sure there are plenty more like me...........so maybe you could have people work more......but you're going to have a lot more of those office shootings!!

This bit in the article certainly looks strange: The findings also tie into research attempting to do away with sleep, such as by finding a drug that could eliminate the effects of sleep deprivation.I don't think it can really mean that, can it? I suspect it is more to do with trying to alleviate the effects of sleep deprivation (eg for astronauts or lone round-the-world sailors) but if so it is badly worded.

I often have bouts of insomnia............sleep is very precious and our body needs that down time desperately.........have no idea why they can't work on other things

I'm guessing that the research is really more to do with helping people like you fuction rather than depriving the rest of us! I suppose less sleep should mean we have more time to do the things we want to do, but it will probably just mean we take on more responsibilities.
Wasn't Margaret Thatcher meant to have slept for only six hours a night?
I'm not sure what that tells us!

Sleep=A-M-B-I-E-N!!!!!!!!!! Dearest Rusty, You have to do some doctor shopping to get Ambien prescribed on a regular basis! Most doctors prescribe it only for a few weeks. The internet spammers claim to sell it, but I wouldn't trust those Mexican pharmacies with the delivery. You know that stuff is almost as addictive as nicotine. I still have some sleeping pills that are even worse than Ambien from an old prescription, but I haven't touched them for years.
I usually take chloral hydrate. That didn't work out well for Anna Nicole Smith in the end. But if it helps me get my beauty sleep when I'm not getting it I'll go with it.
