Do you think it's possible to fall in love with some one over the internet? perhaps someone you don't meet ? can it really be true love?
I know people who say they have fallen in love with some one purely by communication over the net.
I don't know , I haven't yet , but in my experience of internet dating there can be a huge difference between how a person comes across on the internet and how they are in "reality" .
what's your thoughts/ experiences?

I hit it off so well with someone, we talked all night, and began doing so regularly. There was a video cam so this was not sight unseen. And what i found though was after we'd get done talking, I'd turn off the PC and go to bed, and had such a nice warm feeling from it...yea, I think that was love. Hell, we send each other Christmas presents, swapped phone numbers, battled battles (at forums we worked on) together..for years...after a while I'd grown so fond and familiar, I just know if we lived next door to each other (instead of 7,000 miles apart), we'd be the great friends we are. Of course none of this was really a romantic feeling. I suppose in RL it could have gone that way, but oh no, just very good friends. Friends that care.
You can definitely love people you met online. You come to care for another, you get familiar with who they are, you know...
I've even found, just as I can feel people who are a few feet or a town away, so can I feel you if you're on the other side of an ocean. I can get those intuitive flashes you sometimes get when you're close to somebody.
But I don't think I'd want to date online, or try and have a friendship that leads to that. Love your friends, yes. But love romantically, probably not a good idea. There really is a lot you don't see when you're not in the same room together. There's more than just the internet image they put on for you. Even just how he is when other people are around, things like that. You only get to know the part they show...
