I wonder why New York is giving vaccines to all children and teenagers, but apparently no-one else? The article doesn't give the age of the children who died, but I'd hazard a guess that they had underlying health problems.
Maybe the elderly and otherwise vulnerable get flu vaccines anyway?

Yea, I think that's the case. The elderly kind of get an annual flu shot automatically, because they're most at risk (for death by pneumonia). Other ages of adults get recommended for a shot, and about October each year they're done at chemists everywhere, and other places, often for free! But kids, I've never heard of how it goes for them. Maybe usually they dont like to give such an injection to the young? I dont know. But now it's a problem, so they are.
I'm glad I got a flu shot in October!
