I've been thinking a lot lately of different things I would like to do with my life.......
When I was younger I wanted to be a lawyer.....just didn't work out.......
I work in a family business so while I enjoy what we do......it wasn't something I was passionate about......
Quite often I think I would like to write.........but then I consider that while I find myself entertaining.....I wonder how many other people would?
Then it goes on to what would I write? I remember waking up from a dream thinking I had the most awesome dream and it would make a great movie......said I would write it down in the morning......and when I woke up I couldn't remember a thing about it.........(just know I would have made millions off that!! lol)
While I think I would love to write mystery or crime novels........I find that I over think a bunch of little things.....all in an attempt to make it perfect.......and then end up just confusing myself.......
So if you could pursue your perfect life....what would it be? Or if you could write....what would you write about?

I can only thing of one thing I'd change about my life and that's how I conceived my eldest daughter. Even though I love her to bits I wish she'd been born out of mutual love. I used to have fantasies about going into politics but I long ago grew out of them. I wouldn;t mind being a writer but I'm not sure I'd ever be able to write the sort of thing that would attract a mass audience! (For instance I wrote a Christmas story which I posted on a yahoo group that was highly praised by one of my fans but it's far too X-rated to post on this site!)

I used to watch my mom struggle with not coming across contrived, in her writing. She wrote stories, and 'contrived' means when it reads like the details you chucked in are only really there to explain something. The secret is people are good at filling in gaps, and in fact if you make a habit of not explaining every bit, their minds enjoy getting to expand around a seed of a thought you gave them. Sadie, I think you should write for two reasons. Because you want to and because I always enjoy what you write. And I'm pretty picky I think, but you have a lot of personality and humor in your voice and could probably sell anything you set out to describe. So yea, tell the story and only worry about the most vital details; the rest of them include them if they come up naturally. ___________________ It's funny you should ask this because it's been on my mind... I seem to want to write a magazine (really write it, not just skype funny things off the internet to share), but I've been concluding that I'm too out of touch with modern culture (I didnt watch the news for 7 years, or any TV at all...and I dont think I could make myself now! lol I do know people are most interested in writing when there's something they want to understand for themself, they'll endeavor to do so by being able to explain it to someone else. Hence it's best to "strike while the iron's hot" (write it while it's interesting) because anything you save for later just never happens, the interest that was wanes.
mm...Don't wait! Do it today! For me...I think the only time I was truly happy and all flowed effortlessly as it should, was when i was writing music. So I've abandoned yet another website I half-started and begun playing guitar and singing three hours a day. I dont know what the hell for. At my age(dont say that), it's a bit preposterous to be writing music unless it's purely for pleasure. Well, anyway I thought I'd just do it for a while and see what comes. Sadie perhaps that's what you should do. Just start writing without a plan (after all that's how dreams happen). Your subconscious still has that hit movie in it. __________ For New Years..."I resolve to" be myself without hesitation. (pretty general resolution huh? Well..people over-think things rather than just getting on with them, so I don't want to be putting things in my own way . Oh, I'm also doing comic strips, because they're actually sketch comedy, but instead of hiring actors and cameramen, you just storyboard the sketch and stop there. This allows me to afford this hobby and explore it freely and widely. (I love sketch comedy!) (btw, that's an effective way to outline a book. Another trick is to try writing the blurb from the inside cover first (you know the couple paragraphs that describe the book). That's a way of exploring a lot of different book ideas without committing to one till you've settled on an idea.

I had the strangest dream about vampires last night......it was really odd and really violent........I'm not sure what the heck was going on in my head that I was trying to work out..........
Of course, I've had dreams where house flies were barking.........so seriously.......I worry about me sometimes!!!

Maybe my dreams of writing crime novels have to do with my constant desire to strangle people. (sucky day at work again today)

Hmmm - I would have settled down and worked in school at a younger age with the aim of getting into one of the top universities like Harvard or MIT
I would have worked on charm and seductive skills with the aim of sleeping with more attractive young women. Unfortunately, I was born ten years too soon. They didn't really start sleeping around until I was older and married. Rats!

I DO write erotic fiction and about 60% of it is based on personal experience. The trouble is I can't post any of my erotic stories on this forum or even post links to them!

There are only two members here who've ever read any of them and I think they'd both agree they'd be too strong meat for this place and would send Proboards crashing down on the forum like a ton of bricks!
