Man pleads not guilty in fork slaying January 10, 2009 1:20 PM WOODSTOCK, Ill. -- A McHenry man has pleaded not guilty to charges he stabbed a teenage friend to death with a fork during a fight last month. At his court appearance Friday, Victor Bandala-Martinez, 20, asked for a jury trial on charges of first-degree murder and aggravated battery stemming from the Dec. 14. Police say Bandala-Martinez stabbed Yair Cabrera, 17, at least two times with a fork during their fight at a house party. Officers who answered the call say they found Cabrera, a sophomore at McHenry High School's East Campus, inside the residence bleeding from his injuries. He was pronounced dead a short time later at a local hospital. Investigators said they were unsure of what caused the altercation, but did not believe the incident was gang-related. --Associated Press www.chicagobreakingnews.com/2009/01/fork-stabbing-mchenry-pleaded.html

Geez...my whole life I've used forks and never once have I viewed it as a potential weapon. I never knew a fork could cause such serious injuries. This young man seems awfully violent and should definitely not be on the streets. If he can do such damage with a fork, imagine what he'd do with a knife!

A 20 year old young man in prison will be prime chicken meat. Since he wants a jury trial, he must be planning to plead self-defense.

Forking hell! ;D If his name was Guy he'd get nicknamed Guy Forks! Seriously, though, a fork is hardly what you'd choose as a weapon if you were premeditating murder!
