Is it better that an innocent person goes to jail or a guilty person goes free.
Or does it depend on the crime?

An interesting question, Synonym. Thanks for raising it.
I suppose my gut answer is it's better to let a guilty person go free but then if (say) a murderer walks and kills again then you feel awful.
And it's impossible to be totally infallible about these things so I don't know. I lean towards the better to let a guilty person go free but I'm sure members will have different opinions on that subject.

I feel the opposite; it;'s better to let a few innocents get locked up thann run the risk of dangerous maniacs out there on the lose.
