You know the Republicans here are infamous of late, for being against the interests of women. I can't seem to convince you no Republican could ever be someone to vote for, but thanks to Akin, the women of this country are going to vote less for Romney this election (yay) (Thank you Todd Akin!) ;D

You know the Republicans here are infamous of late, for being against the interests of women. I can't seem to convince you no Republican could ever be someone to vote for, but thanks to Akin, the women of this country are going to vote less for Romney this election (yay) (Thank you Todd Akin!) ;D I can't look at politics in that sort of way, Hunny. Sorry. I don't believe any party has a monopoly on good people or good ideas any more than it does on bad ones. I don't know what this says about my political compass in your eyes but if you take every election in America since 1948 I'd have voted Dewey in 1948, Eisenhower in 1952 and 1956, Nixon in 1960, probably Johnson in 1964 though Goldwater is IMO one of the best Presidents the US never had, Humphrey in 1968, Nixon in 1972, Carter in 1976 and 1980, Mondale in 1984, Dukakis in 1988, Bush in 1992, Dole in 1996, Bush in 2000, Kerry in 2004 and McCain in 2008. I'm always going to be a floating voter and my policy is to vote for the party that I think would do the LEAST damage if it got in. This time round (although of course I'm not a US voter) I'd cast an extremely reluctant vote for Obama, not because I like or admire him or agree with him (I disagree on practically everything with him) but because the alternative is even WORSE. It's a bit like the French Presidential election some years ago when the choice was between Chirac and Le Pen. Millions of French people held their noses and voted for Chirac because of course they knew that Le Pen was even WORSE.
