www.news4jax.com/news/19212155/detail.html QUOTE: 3 Seniors Expelled Over Sex Tape POSTED: Friday, April 17, 2009 UPDATED: 10:49 pm EDT April 17, 2009 'Immoral' Video Violates School's Rules JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Three teenagers at Trinity Christian Academy accused of making an adult movie were expelled from the school. School administrators said the three students involved were seniors and two of them were on the football team. All that Channel 4 could learn about the video is that it was deemed inappropriate by those at the Christian school. While the video was made off campus, Trinity spokesman Daniel Riddick said it was possible it was passed between students. "Clearly it violates the values, which are the foundation and the structure of our academy," Riddick said. "We had to take action." As soon as administrators found out about the tape, all three students were expelled for violating the school's code of conduct that clearly states "acts of immorality on or off campus ... results in expulsion." With those involved less than two months from graduation, Riddick said the school was taking steps to help the students -- both spiritually and academically. School administrators referred questions about whether the contents of the video violated the law to the police. Calls to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office on Friday were not returned. obviously, they shouldn't be allowed to graduate. they chose to not continue in the school, there's no reason at all for giving them a diploma

I'm not entirely sure how High School graduation works. In Britain, the students would still be able to take their A levels or Scottish Highers, which are public exams. While the school has to take a stand and explusion seems quite right, it would seem terrible if youngsters leave with nothing.
As for involving the police - was this really necessary, especially as the school isn't even sure if a crime has been committed? Perhaps the police will have the grace to lose the file.

If those are the rules of the school then you need to abide by them.
Are religious schools in USA public or private or a mix?
