www.thebostonchannel.com/cnn-news/18999810/detail.html QUOTE: BOSTON -- President Barack Obama's African aunt is back in her Boston apartment and preparing for a deportation hearing next week. Tom Pilston/The London Times Zeituni Onyango fled to Cleveland last fall after news reports surfaced that she was living illegally in the United States. Obama said he has not been involved in her case and that it should run its ordinary course. Onyango, 56, a Kenyan immigrant, was first ordered to be deported in 2004. The half-sister of Obama's late father was instructed to leave the country four years ago by an immigration judge who rejected her request for asylum from her native Kenya. Kenya is in eastern Africa between Somalia and Tanzania. The country has been fractured in violence in recent years, including a period of two months of bloodshed after December 2007 that killed 1,500 people. It was unclear why Onyango's request for asylum was rejected in 2004. A spokeswoman for U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement has said the government does not comment on an individual's citizenship status or immigration case. The woman referred to as "Aunti Zeituni" in Obama's memoir was given public housing because she met all federal and state standards, the Boston Housing Authority said last fall. The deportation order came a year after she moved into the housing complex but the BHA was never notified of the order, officials there said. Onyango's refusal to leave the country would represent an administrative, non-criminal violation of U.S. immigration law, meaning such cases are handled outside the criminal court system. Estimates vary, but many experts believe there are more than 10 million such immigrants in the United States.

Public Housing?
This bytch got public housing and didn't even belong here?
When my husband passed away and I was left with two young boys and only Social Security and my paycheck to get us by I was turned down for Section 8 because I made $120 a month to much so we had to get the old shoestring out and live on it.
I think we need to hang a sign on the Statue of Liberty that announces there is no longer any vacancies for the tired, hungry, wretched, and poor as the American people have become the tired, hungry, wretched, and poor people hoping to just survive the onslaught of illegal workers who are draining our country with their demands for services they should not be receiving.
We are all tired that the Europeans have a very difficult time immigrating to the US while the third world dregs are welcomed with open arms but then Americans always did love owning slaves and having someone else do their dirty work and pay practically nothing for it.
I have no problem removing the millions out of my country.......men, women, and children can get the boot and good riddance to them and sayanara and come back the proper way and shut up on your way out the freaking door.
I remember Krushchev remarking how we would be destroyed from within and I see that happening every year that passes; our enemies knew we were to powerful to be destroyed by warfare so they wormed their way into society and have destroyed us from within and we gladly followed their liberal ways and look where we are today.

I keep recalling that quotation by Milton Friedman on unlimited immigration; and you will not be surprised to learn that we in the UK have exactly the same problem as you describe in the states. The UK is now officially the most crowded country in the E.U., and still the government makes no serious attempt to either limit the numbers arriving, or to remove those here illegally.
Freedman stated...."You cannot simultaneously have free immigration and a welfare state, I would like to see a world where you could have open immigration.....but stop kidding yourselves".
That about says it all!

President Obama's Aunt Avoids Deportation For Now Staying Put
Despite living in this country illegally, President Obama's aunt will remain in the U.S. for at least another 10 months. Zeituni Onyango appealed her deportation order today. She lost her initial bid for asylum more than four years ago, but has continued to live in public housing in Boston.
The judge pushed back her case until next February because of his packed schedule. Onyango, who is a Kenyan citizen, wore a curly red wig, fur coat and sunglasses to the hearing. The president has said that laws covering her situation should be followed.
