your problem is that you are starting from a totally false premise in this instance. if a fly is buzzing around your head, do you swat it? have you ever put out bait and killed a roach? if so, you are a hypocrite. What premise are you starting from? That all life is of equal value and so swatting a fly that annoys me and taking a man's life are as equally (un)important incidents as eachother? What species was Bin Laden? pretty much. my special boy, the lab in my avatar just died three weeks ago. my ol' lady is somewhat like you. she can't comprehend the reality that coco dying is exactly the same as if one of her kids died. when it comes to trash who need killing, it is even more so. i do swat flies, although i go to great lengths not to, but i have no qualms about killing a worthless piece of shit that tried to break into my house. those who choose to deserve to be killed, make that choice entirely by themselves. being deemed a human being has to be earned.

Just a different persepctive, Jumbo, not lies. Saying that the people who drove the planes into the twin towers "hated freedom" is a gross distortion of the truth, even to my ignorant mind. Some aspects of capitalism don't sit easily with Islam, nor indeed with Christianity. no, it's not just a perspective. it's a conscious choice to be evil. saying that the garbage, since they don't qualify as people, who drove the planes into the twin towers did it because they hated freedom is the absolute truth. their religion is about slavery, and their being stupid enough to follow the hallucinations of a pedophile is NOT a perspective. capitalism is a great idea. the problem is that it is not, and has not been, practiced as designed for a few decades. the idea that those who work hard should be rewarded is the only right one. the fact that capitalism as practiced today is just the opposite, and rewards those who do the least, while hurting those who actually produce, is what makes it wrong.

I'm certainly not trying to defend the terrorists, and maybe I was wrong in suggesting that the motivation was capitalism. After the attack several Muslims (and quite a lot of non Muslims) said that while they deplored the tactics, they could understand the anger against America.
Far too complex for me to understand, and I don't think anyone writing for children should dismissing an attack on American values as "hating freedom." Many, many Americans took the opportunity after 9/11 to examine themsleves and their country and see their shortcomings.

we certainly DO want our children to know that the cult called islam is evil and that those who follow the hallucinations of the pedophile are the enemies of humanity it is unconscionable to try to sugarcoat the irrefutable truth. a cat turd covered with honey will never be a jelly donut

Thank you for that, Anna. That short piece is just inaccurate. For a start, Bun Laden was not found hiding behind a woman: that story was rubbished early on.
On the top floor the trio of Seals looking for Bin Laden found him, some 20 minutes into the raid, standing at the end of the corridor. They recognised him immediately. He also saw them and ducked back inside a room. Initial US accounts of the mission said that before he was killed he had exchanged fire with the commandos while using his wife as a human shield. US officials have now told the Associated Press news agency that after the Seals rushed into the room, they found two women in front of Bin Laden, screaming and trying to protect him. One of the soldiers pushed the women aside, the Seal behind him fired at Bin Laden, hitting him in the head and chest killing him instantly.
