NEW YORK – Celebrity chef Anthony Bourdain has turned his famously sharp tongue against his fellow celebrity chefs, the New York Post reported Thursday.
In an interview in this week's "TV Guide", Bourdain calls Paula Deen "the worst, most dangerous person to America" for her artery-clogging style of cooking.
"She revels in unholy connections with evil corporations, and she's proud of the fact that her food is f--king bad for you," Bourdain said of the Food Network star, who is famous for her butter-heavy recipes. "I would think twice before telling an already obese nation that it is OK to eat food that is killing us," Bourdain wrote. "Plus, her food sucks."
Moving on, Bourdain leveled some scathing criticism on Food Network star and talk show host Rachael Ray.
"Does she even cook anymore?" Bourdain asked.
"I don't know why she bothers," he wrote.
"To her credit, she never said she was good at it. I feel bad that she still feels compelled to cook."
Bourdain, host of the Travel Channel's "No Reservations," says the downside of traveling around the world eating amazing food for the show is that he misses seeing his wife and daughter.

There's no such thing as 'bad' publicity, and rivalry & slagging matches are a classic.

I think in a little dark part of his heart.....he just wants some deep fried chicken or some chicken fried steak and a great big slice of cake.

Uh oh........Paula Deen responds.......
*******************************
The knives are out for Anthony Bourdain after he blasted fellow TV chef Paula Deen, calling her the “most dangerous person in America.”
Deen, searing back after “No Reservations” star Bourdain gave her and fellow Food Network chefs Rachael Ray, Guy Fieri and Sandra Lee a roasting, exclusively told Page Six: “Anthony Bourdain needs to get a life. You don’t have to like my food, or Rachael’s, Sandra’s and Guy’s. But it’s another thing to attack our character. I wake up every morning happy for where I am in life. It’s not all about the cooking, but the fact that I can contribute by using my influence to help people all over the country. In the last two years, my partners and I have fed more than 10 million hungry people by bringing meat to food banks.”
Basting Bourdain for his apparent lack of charity and his attitude, she said, “My good friends Rachael, Guy and Sandra are the most generous charitable folks I know. They give so much of their time and money to help the food-deprived, sick children and abandoned animals. I have no idea what Anthony has done to contribute besides being irritable.”
Deen continued, “You know, not everybody can afford to pay $58 for prime rib or $650 for a bottle of wine. My friends and I cook for regular families who worry about feeding their kids and paying the bills . . . It wasn’t that long ago that I was struggling to feed my family, too.”

Good for her!!! I don't like all her food....and some is definitely bad for the arteries.....but I don't think she is advocating eating that way all the time.....and like she says....she's happy and helping out those in need......

By shooting off his mouth like that, Anthony Bourdain invites inspection.
So I watched one of his programs on TV last evening. He was visiting the Caribbean island of St Vincent where he dined on a large fish head (a local specialty). He doesn't do any cooking. Just travels around and eats local fare. Not a very good program. Didn't learn a thing.
However, it did arouse my curiosity. Who pays for his travel and filming? Is he just a rich guy who funds his own travel and wants to see himself on TV? Or is someone funding him? If so, they're wasting their money.

That's a good question. I've seen a couple of his shows and all he does is eat and smoke.......and he doesn't seem all that pleasant to be around.........the shows I watched I was interested in the area and what they were eating.....and now I can't even tell you what it was about........I think he was looking for free advertising and possibly a ratings boost.
