www.usatoday.com/news/religion/2009-03-11-sex-christian_N.htm QUOTE: GOOD HOPE, Ala. — It's one thing for a church in a big city like Dallas or Atlanta to tackle the ticklish topic of sex. It blends in with the urban scene. It's another thing when a small-town congregation puts up billboards with the phrase "Great Sex: God's Way" on rural highways to promote a sermon series. You can't even legally buy beer in Cullman County, and a preacher is talking about S-E-X on Sunday morning? Daystar Church, whose congregation has grown dramatically under pastor Jerry Lawson, has run up against the sensibilities of a conservative north Alabama community with a month-long focus on sex. Sex just isn't an appropriate topic for church, some say, and others are upset over the church's signs, which advertise the sermon series and accompanying website. "It's really stirred up the people here," said Good Hope town clerk Joann Jones.

Query: Is it insulting, or is it OK if I post 'Only in America!' in response to that story?

It's a simple issue of FoS, RG you have the freedom to post it, Americans have the freedom to be offended by it, and I have the freedom to say "Coming to a British church near you...soon." AH

this is one of the reasons why, though i'm a firm believer, i haven't attended church for years. the majority of churches try to claim that they are appealing to the youth, and instead of singing church hymns, put a rock and roll band up there. this falls in the same category. jesus said, "i am the same yesterday, today, and forever". that means that you do not change the church to fit the ideas of society. it is everyone's responsibility to accept the church as it is supposed to be, and they have NO right even considering the church changing to the times
