when there is NO legitimate reason for a rule except the bigotry of the pc nutjobs making it, why should anyone abide by it? Any organization has the right to make rules, Jumbo. They have every legitimate reason too. Schools have rules. Businesses have rules. Even homes have rules. This forum even has rules. Is BigLin a pc bigot because she made rules for this forum? The fact is, he has to sign a contract. He knew that there were things he could not say prior to signing. If he didn't agree with the teams policy/rules, he did not have to sign. He broke them knowing full well his consequence.

Gay should maintain it's original meaning! Meaning joyful, happy, light spirited, etc. and having nothing to do with homosexuality.

Whether it is despicable is subjective though, with no unarguable arbitrator on what is good or bad to settle the issue.

For instance, my friend worked at a Grocery store, when she signed on to work for them, they told her she could not work for the competition for another job. If they found out she was working for the competition, she would be fired. Stupid, no? I think so, but she signed a contract. Same with this guy. He plays for a sports team, and I imagine they have their own PR team. He knew full well signing the contract that he could not say things on twitter or facebook. Also, the homosexual slur was not the only thing he said to get him kicked off the team. It was just one of the things that got him booted.
