It's hardly the traditional clothing you'd expect for a night out at the opera.

The singer went without her trousers on a date with her boyfriend Luc Carl last night.

Luckily it was not your usual opera - they were attending Green Day's new rock opera American Idiot.

Yet again the 25-year-old star was dressed outrageously in a leather jacket and leather gloves with just underwear, fishnet stockings and her staple platform Alexander McQueen booties.

Gaga kept her face covered with a pair of oversized black Chanel sunglasses.

The couple walked into the St James Theatre in New York separately with Gaga being escorted by police and her own security.

Her man looked slightly more conservative in a grey pinstripe suit with a black shirt and brown brogues but kept his hand over his face as he walked from the car into the theatre.

Luc has been receiving some help form his famous girlfriend and her star power this week promoting is new book, The Drunk Diet.

The Born This Way singer also performed two exclusive concerts at Madison Square Gardens this week which were being filmed for an HBO special.

Yesterday she took to a chatshow to claim her bizarre facial horns are natural.

The singer, who has been sporting bizarre lumps and bumps since she debuted new single Born This Way, told a US chat show host they had always been on her body.

'They've been there this whole time but I waited until I'd put Born This Way Out for you to see them,' she smiled.

Her odd claim comes just a week after she insisted that she had spent 72 hours cocooned in an egg in the run up to her performance at the Grammy Awards.

Gaga appeared on Gayle King's talk show with flesh-coloured spikes on her forehead, cheeks and shoulders.

Her new look has drawn comparisons with Kryten - the plastic-faced robot from 90s BBC space comedy Red Dwarf.

The American pop star, who also donned a black catsuit, huge platform shoes and blue dye on her sculpted hair, even tried to claim she had thrown her outfit together at the last minute.

'I just woke up in my New York apartment and just wanted to be myself today, so I wore my vintage mute glare catsuit and these are my favourite shoes right now,' she said.

'They're creepers and they're made into platforms. I'm very excited about that. It's just another day at the office.'

Gaga also told King that she would pick out a similar outfit if she was popping to the shops to pick up a pint of milk.

'I'd probably just throw something on like this, a good catsuit or a onesie,' she said.

'I live a glamorous, stylish life. It's nothing to do with money or anything. It's just the way I choose to live.

'I just don't care what people think of me to be perfectly blunt,' she added.

But the singer, who has sported a meat dress, a Kermit the Frog coat and used Diet Coke cans as hair rollers said she does draw the line somewhere.

'I would never wear flip flops,' she told an open-mouthed King, adding that she thought she would be letting her fans down in the comfy flat footwear.

'I think it's unfair to them if they see me taking out the trash in a pair of flip flops,' she said.

I think her appeal was just that the industry told people they like her.
That's it. That's how the music industry has worked since the mid 70's.
They FABRICATE "boy bands", they fabricated lady gaga...

And most people are somewhere between musically illiterate and tone deaf,
so you just tell them "everyone else likes it", and they go along.

I think even some of the manufactured people in pop music have had some talent. The Spice Girls weren't bad singers and they had great songwriting teams behind them; even Westlife aren't bad singers.

Take That are more than just a manufactured band because they do have some real talent as well.

|But Lady Garga is just a froth of hype and that's all there is to her.

I think everything she does is careullly cohoreohgraphed to cause maximum efvfect.

In the documents, originally obtained by Celebuzz, Gaga's list of requests range from the mundane -- "two large fluffy lavender towels" -- to the pickier -- "fresh yellow, lavender or white roses."

The most standout item on the list, however, is a "mannequin with puffy pink pubic hair."
