Mike and I are going up to Yorkshire tomorrow morning and we won't be back for a week.
During that time we'll be so busy doing up the place that I'm afraid we won't be online as much as I'd like.
Sorry, guys.
Basically it's unlikely I'll be on at all tomorrow or Sunday.
We'll manage an hour or two on the other days.

Have a good time, Lin! Don't worry...we'll try not to destruct the board or cause too many problems while you're gone!

Hey, I managed to get in a bit of time today after we've finished unpacking our gear. Yes, we plan to move up to Yorkshire in the next few months. We've still got some finishing touches to put the place up here and then we'll either let off (preferred option) or sell our main home in London. We have wonderful countryside up here; it's a much safer place to bring up our kids; we've got loads of facilities on our doorstep; and the cost of living is so much cheaper. We've just had fish and chips which cost 50% less than it would in London and it tastes better too! Probably in the summer we'll be firmly in place in West Yorkshire. As for you guys, I know I can rely on you!

Yorkshire eh? Well, at least you are moving in the right direction. During my working career I had occasion to visit London on a regular basis, and while I wouldn't go quite as far as Wordsworth, it is a great place to visit. But live there? Never in a month of Sundays. I live near Alnwick, on the Northumberland coast. Alnwick has a morning rush hour which lasts about ten minutes. The roads are much quieter up here. The countryside is beautiful, the natives are friendly and it is a great place for families. City life is great for some, but not for me. Anyway, I wish you health and happiness in your new home, Big Lin; even if you didn't reach the true north!!!

I have always meant to visit Northumbria but unfortunately I haven't seen much of it besides South Shields (catching a ferry to Norway) and Darlington (an overnight stopover on the way back from the Scottish Highlands.)
On my list of 'to do' is visiting Lindisfarne, Hadrian's Wall and the Angel of the North.
I'm sure there's loads more to see in Northumbria but those are absolute 'musts.'

Be sure to visit Bamburgh on the tourist coastal route; if only for the home made Scotch pies which the local butcher makes in- house. It is worth the trip for those alone! And be sure to check the tide tables for Holy Island; it is amazing how many do not!
