www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-12191431As Labour win many Tories are complaining the party delivered a lack lustre campaign, in prefernce of people voting Lib Dem. Many Tory voters claim to have not voted at all. Is this a normal by-election result or is there more to it?

Basically it was Labour held with the Lib Dems the challengers.
In situations like that the third party vote (Conservative in this case) normally falls apart.
The problem for Clegg is that HIS party failed to achieve a better showing. To go from a majority of 103 to one of 3500 is a pretty pathetic effort.

The tories took a really heavy loss with that gaon not going to the libs - Labour are picking up support
