I'm not a believer in anything, but went to a Christian school where Darwinian theory and the Bible were taught (albeit in separate classes) without anyone blinking an eyelid.
Yet many Christians seem unable to reconcile the two. So is it possible, or are Christian evolutionists just kidding themselves about something?

I'm a Christian who reconciled them with very little problem.

pumpkinette, Let me guess, an OEC and a non-Bible literalist. What's an OEC? A non-Bible literalist? Not positive what you mean by this. I'm assuming it means I take all OTHER books literally besides the Bible?

Also a non-Bible literalist is one who doesn't take the Bible accounts such as Genesis literally.

Well, me too! A few of your other recent posts on another thread got me thinking "that's the sort of thing Jean would post".

All religions are nonsense but some are more nonsensical than others. Islam is the worst of a bad lot.

Old Earth creationism I've looked into this whole issue very little. I lean towards creationism, to be honest. However, this is an issue that's been SO exaggerated by Christians it's sick to me! So many act like the fact that there's even thinking about evolution out there to be a threat! Evolution DOESN'T TAKE AWAY what Jesus Christ did, continues to do, etc. It doesn't take away your salvation! It's like saying the fact that there's Satanism is such a threat that it keeps people from accepting Christ as Savior, etc. RIDICULOUS! A reason I haven't looked into this issue much is because there's many others that are WAY more important than it!

Also a non-Bible literalist is one who doesn't take the Bible accounts such as Genesis literally. I do take it literally in MANY ways. However, I also follow common sense and know that some things like when Jesus said "if your eye offends you, pluck it out" (I'm paraphrasing here, but that's the gist of it) isn't to be taken literally. However, all teachings on how we're to live, treat others, etc., those I take literally. Many lie and say the Bible is a COMPLETE history/science book. It's NOT! My fiance says "The Bible shows us how to go to heaven, NOT how the heavens go". He didn't come up with this, but I love it every time he says it! ;D It IS a history book to a degree, but not completely. It's a spiritual GUIDEBOOK and to me that's the biggest value in it. ;D
