This is a really interesting article on the investigation into Lance Armstrong. Whether you believe he has doped or not........the amount of money spent and what can they actually prove........they have yet to have a positive blood or urine test......so all it will be is finger pointing.......mainly people with a grudge so what will this accomplish? www.time.com/time/nation/article/0,8599,2005820,00.html?xid=rss-topstories

Sadie - When you look at the number of top cyclists who have failed drug tests it is like a Who's Who of the sport.
My guess is that nearly all of them did it and most of the top riders got caught.
But I also think they've made a major effort to clean up the sport. There were not the failed drug tests and race expulsions that we've seen before in this year's tour.
A witch hunt going back ten years can't be good for the sport at this time.

True.
With Lance it has become a witch hunt. Since they haven't caught him it's become almost a vendetta..........
I wish he had let it go and not ridden this year.......not that it would have stopped this. They would probably still be jumping out of bushes and trying to drug test him.

Some of his former team mates like Tyler Hamilton and Floyd Landis were caught and their careers were essentially ended (too old after two year suspension). They're essentially out of work and relatively poor while Lance is rich and famous. i can understand their resentments and some jealousy. But they do themselves no good by carrying water for the witch hunters.

I know Lance Armstrong made a big thing out of NOT being on drugs so it would be a great shame if it turned out he'd been telling porkies.
On the other hand, anyone who's ever taken steroids know that they DO enhance your performance and they're getting a lot harder to detect as well.

With Lance I don't think it was steroids. The allegation is blood boosting. The idea is to have his own blood drawn and stored under refrigeration. Then have a transfusion with his own blood during a race. This restores energy and is not detectable. Before that it was EVO which wasn't detectable at the time.
