SANTA FE, N.M. -- Complaints flooded into Santa Fe's City Hall after last month's World Naked Bike Ride. City Council is now looking to place some ordinances that will force people to cover up a little more.

The WNBR was organized to promote bicycle awareness and protest the world's dependency on oil. But after nude riders raced around the plaza, people complained that children were present.

"It does offend some people," said Mayor David Coss. "Second of all, you're kind of forcing children to see it."

Coss, along with three other councilors, said he is in favor of an ordinance that would require people to cover up their genital, buttocks and breast areas.

"You just have to cover the primary genitalia," said Coss when asked what the law currently requires.

The proposed ordinance does say it will not restrict nudity being used to communicate ideas and other forms of expression, which left many wondering if the nude bikers will ride again next year.

The ordinance will be discussed at Tuesday's Public Safety Committee meeting and a public hearing will take place next week.

As someone who's been known to go on nudist holidays occasionally, I can't see the harm in all this stuff.

OK, some of us have better bodies than others but the whole point of nudism is to make it as unremarkable as any other style of dress.

Some are so conservative, they see it as some sort of perversion. In a way I don't blame them, but they can't shelter their kids from everything.

Well.....first of all........gosh....how tough are those guys riding bikes naked......yikes!!

Seriously.....people need to lighten up......one day a year.......you can have your kids go a different route.........and besides.....their kids are probably sneaking peeks of naked people on the 'net already anyway.......
