Good choices Jumbo and Sadie, but Fretslider had the MOTM honors in March and we have to wait 6 months before a MOTM can be renominated! I'm not sure if Pumpkinette, who was November's MOTM is eligible, but the following 5 are not eligible for June.

how about next time we pick a race? although i lost badly on the kentucky derby, i did pick the winner of the preakness, who should have also won the derby.

The Padres are one of my favorite national league teams! I give them the edge, if the Giants don't have their killer pitchers Barry Zito or Tim Lincecum starting!

I'd have to make a dozen honorable mentions for the Kentucky Derby or race car events, since that's usually the number of cars or horses involved. I really know little about these events too!

i don't care about car racing at all. the only sports i pay any attention to is football and horse racing.
i do agree that it would be difficult with your system. there is usually twenty in the derby. there were twelve in the preakness saturday

i do agree that it would be difficult with your system. there is usually twenty in the derby. there were twelve in the preakness saturday

And usually one horse is the favorite another horse has a reasonable chance and the rest are outsiders or long shots.

that''s why i bet two horses to win and show, one to place and show, and the longest shot on the board to show, and box the first three in the exacta.
this isn't always a satisfactory thing however. it is a $26 bet. i lost the whole thing on the derby, and even though i had the winner in the preakness, i only won $10.60. not good

Mouse just PMed me and picked the Oakland Athletics!

Sadie gets the Detroit Tigers! I think this game is pretty evenly matched! The Tigers have won a couple more games than the Athletics, but they're playing in Oakland and Oakland's pitcher Dallas Braden recently pitched a perfect game, which means he got all 27 batters he faced OUT!! Something which is virtually unheard of, if not impossible, in Cricket! The Tiger's pitcher Justin Verlander is one of the best pitchers around too. I predict a close game!

In well over 100 years of professional US baseball-not counting Japanese & Mexican baseball, etc.-there has been a grand total of 13 perfect games where all 27 batters were retired in the 9 innings of play!
