Maybe I'm wrong. I thought in CA (at least) all adult citizens were supposed to carry picture ID or Driver's License, either of which would prove citizenship, would it not? you're not wrong

I have a friend who lives in Sweden. He's appalled by the liberal immigration policies. Muslims have been coming in by the boatload and signing up for Sweden's generous welfare benefits including education, health care, etc. It's truly amazing. Sweden's government has stupidly imagined that they're doing the right thing by lowering immigration barriers. A few years from now those left-wing politicians might get the facts when Sweden's majority opts for Sharia Law.

I would do anything to provide for my family. This includes sneaking into another country to make a little money and give them a better life with more opportunity and freedom from all the crap that is associated with living in a 3rd world, violent, and unstable country. I can't fault people wanting to come live here. That we are one of the countries in the world people risk dying to get into is something I'm perversely proud of. And a part of the motivation for coming here is that in this country the Policia don't stop you randomly on the street and ask for your papers to prove that you're not doing anything wrong. As a US citizen, I would not plan on visiting Arizona with a law that that give the police virtually unlimited discretion to detain people for the crime of not having a passport handy. Granted, I’m not the kind of person who finds that winter makes me yearn for endless strip malls, but if I was, I’d certainly be looking into other options. Among other things, losing your passport is a massive pain in the ass if you need it to get on a plane back home, and if you have to carry it with you everywhere, bad things can happen. I suppose they’re counting on white tourists assuming — all-too-reasonably! — that the enforcement of the laws will be flagrantly racist, but why bother with this at all? Illegal immigration is a problem but it is not worth sacrificing yet another part of our liberty to deal with it for some very marginal improvement in the ability to stem the tide. This law is wrong and should be opposed by everyone who abhors police states. It's truly funny you say people here aren't stopped randomly, etc. It really is! Are you willfully ignoring the MANY checkpoints set up with military running them? Willfully ignoring how people here are LOCKED UP for no real cause and can't get out, etc., based on PATRIOT ACT? FYI, your DEMOCRAT "SAVIOR" RENEWED the Patriot Act, something you've been totally SILENT on that I can see. I wonder why THAT is? I thought the "Savior" Democrats were going to END all the evils of Dubya? Funny, but they're STILL GOING! It truly is funny how you willfully ignore the illegal checkpoints, etc., going on in this country! Just go to YouTube and watch the videos of people stopped for NO good reason who get beat up, etc., for doing NOTHING! That's just 1 place this stuff can be found. I guess also that it's OK TO BREAK ANY LAWS TO GET MONEY, am I right? Don't have money, anything goes! What a wonderful standard to have!

G.g What is your list a list OF? I don't understand it. it's a list of some of the people caught coming across the border in arizona in 2009 and where they are from I want the border closed because a lot of these people worry me more than mexicans.

Where do these numbers come from, though? These people have all left these places to go to... ...Arizona? Not LA or New york where they could melt away undetectable among huge ethnic populations. Not Dearborn with its large Muslim population, but Pakistanis chose to leave their own Country and attempt to 'sneak into perhaps the one State in the Union where they would stick out like a sore thumb? Iraqis are very unlikely to to stand out in Phoenix are they? If I was any of these Nations, I could think of four or five major American cities I could get away with living, Southern States would not exactly be my first port of call, would they?

Ummm, RV
Arizona is just their entry point. They can catch a Greyhound bus for anywhere from there.

Like Bush said- arizona is just their entry point in to the country because we don't have the borders secured. Don't remember where I got these specific numbers but this should help you www.wsbtv.com/news/23436627/detail.htmlPeople Other Than Mexicans Currently In Detention In ICE Custody Including From Terrorist Countries Posted: 4:21 pm EDT May 3, 2010 Border Special 1 Border Special 2 Border Special 3 Border Special 4 Border Special 5 click on each special and read the report from homeland security. Agreed. Many of them look like they could be Hispanic or Latino (or whatever you want to call them) to the untrained eye. That scares me. The crazy, extremist terrorists could sooo use the southern border to their advantage. There is a lot of other crap with the gangs, drugs, and kidnappings. Calderon is bitching about the Arizona law, but what about the laws for illegals in Mexico? Hypocrite much?

Even so, the numbers are not huge.
But if there is a law against employing anyone who isn't a citizen or a work-permit holder, it makes sense to target employers, and fine them heavily for not checking.

Why smuggle yourself into Mexico then attempt to get into America, from Somila or Pakistan? How many flights are they from Pakistan to mexico a day? That seems a long way for a short cut to me. Surely it makes more sense to fly straight to the Country and claim aslyum there? To attempt to sneak America from Mexico is plain crazy. A North Korean would stick out like a sore thumb.

Where to start? Well first of all a real terrorist suicide bomber sent by Al Queda won't have a problem with money or long flights with circuitous routes. Their concern would be getting that person into the USA perhaps with some luggage that wouldn't pass US Customs inspection. They can transit Europe without much problem just driving a car. They'd likely encounter less security flying from Madrid to Mexico City than from Cairo to NYC. You don't claim asylum in the USA without some pretty convincing evidence to support your claim. A detention center or a return ticket is more likely. Take your average arab male and put him in Mexican garb. He'll look like an olive skinned Mexican and he won't have to answer questions if he pays a smuggler to take him across the border.

My parents came here legally. I have a lot of friends that also did it legally. And they are all for this law. It is our taxes that go up and our insurance rates, our prices for everything that go up....when people come here and use the hospitals for free.....get food stamps, free housing, commit crimes and all the cost that goes with prosecuting them. If they want to come here and contribute to the system I have no problem with them.......I don't care what color or where they come from......but when they are here and just sucking the system dry then I have a problem. with them.
My father was almost killed by an illegal immigrant that stole a car hit my father's car with it (while being chased by the police)......was later arrested.....deported and was back 3 days later at his same job. My father was left with a totaled car, medical bills, etc.....and nothing happened to the guy but a free trip back to visit family for 3 days.........
