OK, guys, we're having a General Election in the UK on May 6th.
I'm (of course) a floating voter (though beginning to lean more towards one party than the others.)
What are members' thoughts on the candidates, the issues, the result and so on?
I've decided to run a poll with a LOT of choices so people can say who they think they might vote for!

I've included the regional parties in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland who only field candidates in their own countries.
If I lived in Ulster (as my Dad used to until the late 70s) I'd vote DUP. As I live in England, I won't!

i will vote conservative i have no option..a straight run in our area usually which had always been a conservative area untill they re drew and included a couple of massive council estates wich tipped the balance in fact to get rid of this shower i would vote for a cockroache in prefference to this labour bunch of lying theiving hyporcrites i shall listen carfully to what is going on and if it looks like an independent or ukip have a chance i may possibly vote for them if we have a candidate i was asked if i would do some canvassing[which in the past have done and been pretty good at][although i belong to no political party] but i think i will give it a miss this time..

I will write on the ballot paper....
"None Of The Above"
The reasons why are surely more than obvious.

Iv'e noticed that every general election since 1997 has been held simultaneous with local elections.
With a month to go then, the Tories have opened up a ten point lead on YouGov’s tracker, up from +6 on March 31st.

I shall see who is standing; if there is a Green Party candidate s/he might get my vote.
We are very blue round here but am told the BNP is standing....perhaps because the Tory MP has had some bad publicity connected with his private life - and expenses!

It will matter how Mike and I vote (and we don't always vote the same) because the constituency where our vote will be cast is currently Labour but marginal to the Lib Dems.
Our votes could make a difference and we're still undecided (though I'm beginning to lean more one way and Mike the other!)

The immigrant vote in Tooting guarantees the slimy, odious Sadiq Khan a return to the House of plenty. They have replaced a large swathe of the 'working class vote' as Labour's core support. The question is who will the chavs vote for now? That is why it is 'None Of The Above' for me. Incidentally........... Sadiq Khan, the transport minister, has said he is ready to scrap the £2.70 toll paid by 18,000 drivers a day to help boost the economy during the downturn. It is the second time in its short life that the bridge has been seen by a Labour Government as a vote winner as the party prepares to go to the polls. In recent months the Humber Bridge Board, which faces debts of £322 million, has been pushing the Government to increase the tolls. www.telegraph.co.uk/motoring/news/7560187/Humber-Bridge-set-to-be-electoral-bribe-again.html

I will vote Green to help us save our deposit, as we did last time - unfortunately with our FPTP system of voting, unless you live in Brighton Pavilion it's the best we can expect.
We seriously hope to get a third Green councillor in this ward, though.
(Even though the LibDems are standing a candidate whose surname, allegedly, is Green.)

i would think that a good englishman would vote for the bnp. obviously, these chaps leave a little to be desired, but, if their stand on immigration were the law of the land, the rest of the problems would resolve themselves
