It amazes me that some antis try to claim that executions in the US are identical to the horrible sadistic murders which warranted these executions! How many murder victims had a chance to appeal ?, Have visitors? Say good bye to their relatives and friends? Be spared cruel and unusual punishment? It just amazes me that some antis believe both acts are identical!

People try and do this when the likes of myself highlight that Iran hangs people for being gay or adulterers...they simply cannot grasp the fact that America executes people for terrible crimes in which there are real victims (who are usually dead) and Iran executes people for being born gay... AH

ONLY the very stupid try to equate execution with murder, since there is no similarity in any way. it is the typical irrational emotional stupidity which is typical of those who have no rational argument against something

But justifiable or not- a killing is still a killing.

But justifiable or not- a killing is still a killing. of course, that's not true. however, even if it were, there is a huge difference between a worthless piece of shyt killing an innocent child, and the state killing the garbage

Indeed, "killing" can mean lot's of things...we can kill for food or to protect the innocent, that makes it justified, or we can kill for pleasure or power, that makes it evil.

I agree with Anna and Jumbo on this issue. There is NO excuse for murder, yet there is EVERY reason to end the life of a filthy scum mrderer by execution. Each and every murderer believes in the DP, They themselves stand as judge, jury and executioner of their victims. _________ With very few exceptions, when it comes time for a murderer to face the music, they whine, cry and bog the legal system down with every concievable appeal and excuse known to mankind. Bloody Cowards.

I think I agree with Mindy.
a). I've never seen anyone argue that the the two are 'identical'
b). Of course there are similarities, state sanctioned killing as a means of deterrent hasn't been proved to work, has it? So it's a revenge or justice killing in the state's eye? If you take Cammie's argument as valid that puts the two in the same sphere.

If you take Cammie's argument as valid that puts the two in the same sphere. nope. not even close. anna and i differ on the deterrence trip, primarily because it simply doesn't matter whether or not anyone else is deterred by an execution. the ONLY thing that matters is that the executed murderer is deterred from ever doing it again. if someone happens to be deterred, that's just gravy, but it is NOT relevant. everyone is born with the sacrosanct right to life. when an individual chooses to violate someone else's right, he signifies that he is VOLUNTARILY forfeiting his right to life. equating the life of a murderer to that of a real person makes you a loser from the gate. obviously, by his choice, the life of a murderer is not worth anything at all, much less even remotely close to that of a victim's. just simple reality
