Thank you Mouse.
I had a very enjoyable visit at the prison this morning and had to drive home in terrible rain and wind but am happy and hoping all on the board were able to do something special with their loved ones.

Happy Easter, everyone!
The Marshall clan went to church and as usual I went up to the altar to take communion and Mike stayed in the pews. This time, though, I took the kids up to the altar for a blessing rather than (as we usually do) them staying in the pew with their Dad.

Thanks, Jade. My doctor tells me I should be reducing my cholesterol levels. The practice nurse tells me that unless I am to to take statins, I must avoid cholocate unless it has a minimum of 75% cocoa solids, as well as cakes made with saturated fats, so that's no Easter eggs and hot cross buns for me. And then she told me that once I had achieved my target, the goalposts would probably change again. I'm sure rice and lentils are a wonderful combination. In truth, I always get a bit depressed at Easter. I don't really believe in the Resurrection of Christ, and am merely reminded of his suffering on the Cross- and of the other two crucified with him who would these days be getting community punishment orders or something.

i useually go to church at easter but not this year...not that i am what any one could describe as christian but i do like the protesten ethics of christianity[ and the hymns] how ever i have no hesitation in giving christian greetings to christians..without whom i think the world would be a much lesser place on many many counts i love easter with its promise of renewal spiritually and phsyically and the welcome signs of warmer weather skylark..are you taking statins? i am on them and am montired regularily at the stroke clinic..have to say i have felt better since going on them so if your not on them,,have no fears as for chocolate..i ate chocolate all day yesterday...i now only eat chocolate hotel or other handmade chocs and they seem to be Aok with much reduced fats[and i still have a couple of boxes to go...yippeeeee and survived the night ..lol

Thank you Mouse. I had a very enjoyable visit at the prison this morning and had to drive home in terrible rain and wind but am happy and hoping all on the board were able to do something special with their loved ones. i spent a quiet day at home and a friend came round for an hour or so...we never go out at bank holiday as there is no pleasure in being stuck in the car or zooming along with hoardes of other drivers ...sadly it was too cold to get out into the garden and this moring looks the same again grey beitterly cold and the promise of rain but the daffodills are out and lovely to look at

Mouse, I'm not on statins but am told I can have them if I want. My cholesterol isn't very high (5.6, with the bad stuff accounting for a little more than half of that) but I'm on blood pressure pills so therefore high risk.
Have you had a stroke, Mouse? If so, my sympathies for you.
And I'd like to join you in special good wishes to Christians for whom this is such a special time.

Alas, all Green and Black eggs were sold out, Mr Lark tells me...
I'm sorry about your strokes, Mouse. Has your doctor really told you a major one is inevitable? The worry would probably trigger one in me!

The worry would probably trigger one in me! its a probability rather than a possibility given that every thing i like is bad for me and of course one cannot undo the life one has already lived but hey i am an old woman and things happen... son says like a creaking gate i will swing for a long time yet -if only from one hinge ;D and meanwhile life is for living

(Happy Chocolatefest everyone) Mike's an agnostic, Jade. I'm a Christian. He and I both agreed that I can raise our kids with exposure to both points of view - the religious one and the humanist one that he favours. As for confessions, believe me, Jade, in many ways our lives have got a lot more boring since we married and had kids! (Although... well, we have our moments!)
