We invented bacon and eggs.
huh? i do believe that pigs and chickens had more to do with it
i've never had fish and chips in england, but, there used to be a place in berkeley, run by a jolly good fellow, that had incredible fish and chips, newspaper in the basket as it is supposed to be and all and lots of vinegar

Well, they certainly originated in China anyway. Besides, pasta and noodles are just junk food - the McDonalds of their time!

There is no 'they' - different cultures developed versions of a basic starch-and-water paste ad different times and independently, as far as we know.

Well i did eat that English speciality "Fish n' Chips", while i was in England and survived! ;D
I love politically incorrect humor and can't resist posting this, although post 1945 non Eastern block German police are generally sweeties and i'd skip the Italian lover in "heaven"! www.wolfescape.com/Humour/Jokes.htm QUOTE: What's the difference between Heaven & Hell ?
In Heaven, the French are the Cooks, the Germans are the Mechanics, the British are the Police, the Italians are the Lovers and the Swiss are the Bankers.
In Hell, the French are the Mechanics, the Germans are the Police, the British are the Cooks, the Italians are the Bankers and the Swiss are the Lovers.

OK Lin, I'm raising the white flag of surrender. I do need to make another trip to England and follow your recommendations.a
However, I wouldn't eat at MacDonalds in any country. Also wouldn't eat in an Italian or Chinese restaurant and use that experience to judge English cooking.

and since i posted we have had rain and are once more with blue skies and sunshine..
if we got 5inches of snow the country would grind to a halt once more...lol....trouble is our snow is intermittent so its hardly worth investing in all the equipment to deal with it oh for some global warming...i think we have forgotton what a warm summers day is like
