What I do wrong is skip breakfast and lunch. You can lose weight that way, but if you're not careful you can gain that way too (calories taken in in the evening, you know).
I'd like to know what people are eating for breakfast and lunch!

I doubt if I eat better than you, Hunny. This morning I have already had a cup of tea and four slabs of chocolate - and it is only 7.30.

Aaw...if at first you don't succeed...next try's a charm! Me, after many (and I do mean many) false starts, I'm eating three meals a day instead of one (I still dont want to eat in the morning, but I just do it! because I think eating only supper, or even if you do have lunch, if you live on coffee all morning for energy, all that seems to happen is you'll get tired! and sometimes I lose weight that way, yea, but you can also gain weight from eating just supper (because all your calories are at the time you become less active and go to bed, so you dont burn them, they just get stored (dastardly calories!). ..And actually I was told that breakfast is supposed to be your biggest meal, not dinner So yea, three small meals....seems to be the key for me. Dont skip breakfast, it does more harm than good.

I was worried about it for a while there, then my appetite disappeared. It's the oddest thing. Food just doesnt seem appealing to me at all! Oh well, cant complain about having it come easy!
The best thing I ever did to keep at a healthy weight was follow a diabetic diet sheet I found (I'm not diabetic, it's just a very healthy diet). You can have 1200 calories a day. You have to eat three small meals and they have to be balanced (the 4 food groups). Sugar of course is out, fat is limited. And there is NO thought to carbs (yeesh! fads!)
You could probably google a diet sheet, and buy a book that tells you how many calories are in things. or a doctor can certainly provide these things.
I always go to the doctor even for little things or stuff like this because they know stuff and it always helps to get the right advice.
But yea, I stuck to that diet for some time and then it became something I just knew how to do and didnt even really need to count anymore.
I've always had a problem with the idea that breakfast should be your biggest meal, and supper your smallest. I do it the other way around even still. But point is even if all you eat is a slice of dry toast and some orange juice and a vitamin in the morning, you'll find it changes a lot of things. You'll drink less coffee, you'll ...how can I say this...poop better XD You'll have energy you didnt know you could have, and you'll be inclined to be hungry again in time for lunch. In short, you'll become dependent on food for your energy rather than coffee. You'll also find you think clearer and feel better and get more done. So really skipping breakfast is a bad idea! It's one mistake you can make that will make everything else go wrong. And in fact, statistically, people who skip breakfast GAIN WEIGHT! (because you eat more when you do finally eat, because you're starving yourself, AND because when you starve yourself your metabolism shuts down, so you dont lose weight from it! You have to eat to lose weight! Even if you're used to years of not doing it right. It's the one change you could make that might have you end up successful and feeling great: to eat three small meals.
Next...you have to add exercise! Daily exercise. It's possible to lose weight while sitting in a chair all day, but you'll lose much more and feel WAY BETTER (you'll be amazed), if you just so much as go take a half hour walk each day.
Three small meals. Exercise.
That's all you have to do, and some months will quickly go by and you'll find yourself thinner and more energetic.
Now, having said all that, and to illustrate my point, currently I have NO appetite (dont know why, it's gone) so I've been eating supper only, a total of about 800 calories a day. So am I losing weight? No. It's staying the same. Like I said, your metabolism shuts down and you dont burn fat when you starve yourself.
Three small meals. Exercise.
And let some time go by. That's all one has to do.

--> I'd like to know what people are eating for breakfast
I discovered a great diet breakfast recipe that's really delicious and super low in calories. It is a diet version of Mexican Chillaquilles. Quick and easy too.
For one serving:
2 corn tortillas (Mission brand yellow tortillas have only 140 calories for 2 tortillas) ½ cup Egg Substitute (Egg Beaters or equivalent) Spray cooking oil (PAM or equivalent) Salt and pepper to taste
Spray both sides of the tortillas, and a small skillet or omelet pan liberally with the spray oil. Then cut the tortillas into strips about ¼ inch wide by an inch or two long. Fry the tortilla strips in the sprayed skillet over high heat until they are a little browned and half way crispy. Toss with a fork while cooking so that they'll cook evenly.
When the tortilla strips are ready, pour the half cup of Egg Beaters into the skillet and toss with the tortilla strips until cooked. The eggs will cook quickly. Toss so you won't let them burn or brown.
Serve immediately. These are great without condiments but you might like a little ketchup on the side or, better yet, a little Mexican Picante sauce.
Yummy!
